Such a great example of how subjective gear is. I wouldn’t personally choose any of the gear she uses, but she rules. Not there’s anything wrong with her gear, it’s just nothing I would use. But she settled on a rig and just owns it. Gotta be a cool lesson in there somewhere

Exactly. Just like with bass guitars. If we all liked the same thing, we'd all be playing Fenders.

I don’t know who played with Ozzy on that album. I thought it was Sarzo, but maybe he was later. That one part is pretty cool, but overall the bass playing on the Ozzy solo stuff never really caught my ear.

I can see why if that's true, Belew was being trolled by Bowie. At a Zappa concert.

I read in Ken Scott’s autobiography that Frank was perpetually pissed that all his discoveries would get poached from him. Ken was producing Missing Persons at the time. Every member of Missing Persons had been in Zappa’s band at one time. In the book, Zappa comes off as half joking, but you could tell it bugged him

I used to have an Uber 212. Super punchy cabs. I like em. I like mine even more, but they’re stupidly expensive :/

There's a side of me that wishes i had 12's again. It was truly glorious through the AV.
As far as comparison goes, it's really apples and oranges the way i'm hearing it. The M6 is so fat and warm while being extremely articulate with gobs of power. The GK700RBii sounds great as well but to my ears doesn't have that mid to upper mid warmth. They both hold their own in what they do. What the GK excels at to my ears is the grind. But with the B7Ku, i can get all that, with the warmth. Plus the Mesa has got all that crazy low end, just like i remember it. Thank goodness for the Broughton. But now i'm all confused about the Berg. I gotta work with this new rig a bit to see if i'm gonna go back to all 12's or not. This sh!t never ends, Does it.

Most players that swear they ALWAYS hate tweeters haven’t heard a really good one. Nearly every commercial cab uses cheap piezo crap tweeters. I’ve used seriously nice ones and still don’t dime em, but that little bit of air on top can be just the ticket. For upright, I think it’s absolutely essential

With the exception of the original 360, I do not own a cab with no tweeter. I use 'em shamelessly. You have to use the bright switch and a bit of treble boost with the upright through the original 360, but it sounds great to me. I don't think it is recordable accurately.

I like administering that thump to the room. It is one of the reasons I use the amps I like to use. The liquify setting is especially effective. Even without excess volume.
