Going wireless, I already have a perfectly good kill switch. It's the button on the receiver that kills the signal and turns the receiver into a tuner. No need for another kill switch I would only bump accidentally and at bad times. I'm thinking lights, but then, I'm not sure where the lights would go.

A kill switch is a great idea.

However, to be truly original it really needs to be a remote control mounted on your bass, that signals a powered 120volt outlet box. You can get them from Home Depot for about ten bucks...

Then plug your guitarists amp into the 120volt outlet and SHAZAM you've got a kill switch - for your guitard if he gets outta hand!

Gotta rout out the bass for the light trough. The rout doesn't have to be beautiful if the scratchplate is made the right way. It would be better if it was, though, because it would make for more options. Maybe a Thunderbird shaped rout, with just a clear plate.

Pretty sure someone has a metal pick guard with cut out ‘bird and lights underneath

No need for a switch - this inexpensive unit comes with a credit-card sized remote controller. To illuminate the cut-out T-bird on an aluminum pg as I did, the route can simply be a round cavity that the hockey-puck like disc fits snuggly into. (LED's on opposite side) The screw-on cap doesn't need to be attached making it about 1" deep. The aluminum cut-out pg's are made by a woman in Germany. I'm in the process of making another Fenderbird with the light-show system now.

As Nocturnal said, Thin Lizzy's Whisky in the Jar is a great one. So is Little Darling. As for SLF, one of my favorites was always Silver Lining. The subject matter always seems to be current. I'm linking to this version because the album version has horns.
