Got up earlier than planned...a trip to genpop threatened to make me too cynical and mean spirited, so I hightailed it out of there :) The insomnia did help me finish up a book (“All Tomorrow’s Parties,” William Gibson).
Headed to the studio for 3 more days to finish up basic tracking on the Adrian + Meredith record. Absolutely loving this drummer we’re using on the record. Super creative and upbeat. So much more fun when everyone at the session has the right attitude!
Most of the bass tracks are the Hofner 500/1, but I cut the last few on my T Bird w/ Lollars and Cobalt flats. May recut some of the tracks with the ‘Bird, but for this type of record, it’s nice to know that just two basses can cover a nice wide range of sound/feeling.

It’s still the funniest thing ever and NEVER gets old
We know "Freebird" and will play it when someone's trying to be 'funny', but the last time we were asked, we were already packing up-PA off, amps off, axes on stands-and the guy offers us $5(!)to play it. We said we couldn't-local noise ordinance, have to shut down at ten*(not true). If everything was still on we mighta done it, but no. BTW, all evening I [I do the 'tween songs B.S.] said that we accept requests; this guy waited 'til we'd said "good night":banghead:

*feel free to appropriate this line of b.s. with time adjustments as necessary

I think I’ve read every William Gibson book twice!
Yesterday I found a VR headset in a thrift store. I think I have arrived in the future:wideyed:
