An old one, absolutely. The new ones are really big, which defeats the purpose of a motorcycle, in my opinion. My Triumph is a Daytona 675. It's lack of mass makes up for my enjoyment of the occasional beer.

How many basses come from the factory with a 3 band EQ pre-amp and a passive/active toggle? I've given enough clues, work that Google-foo!

For some reason i've got Ernie ball & G&L in my head. But never seen those with barts stock. I would've also guessed Ibanez cause my friend has one stock with barts passive active switch, 24 frets etc. Also google ain't gon' do jack cause all it gives it's circuits & active preamps for bass guitar, not the actual bass guitar.

Figured i'd post this here, maybe some fellow Tbird players could help me out
So I'm looking into doing some mods to my epi classic thunderbird just need some help w/ a few things since I'm pretty illiterate w/ electronics and mods and what not. I do really like the sound of the bass as is and still want to be able to go back to that tone whenever I want but think I could get more out of the bass itself. What I'm wanting to do is put a push pull pot for series and parallel switching but also want to add a push pull for a capacitor a .0047uf like whats in a rickenbacker to add that trebly punch to the bridge pickup and possibly to the neck pickup as well. I want to make the neck pickup a bit brighter and punchier, Im always drawn to the tone of the neck pickup just want it to be a bit tighter and brighter. Also I want to do something about the tone knob, I used to own a 94 Gibson Thunderbird which I regret getting rid of but it unfortunately lacked in Volume and the neck was warped as crap but it still had a great feel and tone, but what I loved about it was the way the tone knob worked, it took out some high end when backed off but gave a very tight, kinda mid rangy sound to the bass, almost like having really tight dead strings. I want the tone knob on my epi to do that rather than just muffling and muddying up the bass sound. Anybody have any suggestions as to what I could do for these mods and if its something i could actually do???

Wow, that's a lot of stuff to figure out! I might be able to figure out the wiring, given time, but the specific tone issues are way beyond anything I could suggest.

I honestly don't know anything about mods and wiring but hope to learn a bit about it, hoping through searching forums I'll be able to get what I want out of my basses without having to buy expensive pickups and eq's etc. If anything I just wanna bring out the older TBird tones out of mine!

I had forgotten about that brand. I have a friend with a Laguna bass that is pretty nice for what he paid for it. I remember seeing the Laguna and Ocean stuff at GC for a while. Larry's bass looks like one of the higher end Cort models that were offered a while back. Enjoy it man!!

Thanks. They were trying to do quality basses for a while. Now they only do cheap basses it seems. This one is the same model my bass instructor has but his isn't anywhere near as clean as my copy.
