Thunderbird Club

To all the folks here who celebrate the USA traditional Thanksgiving day - have a wonderful one, and be sure if saying grace to give thanks to whom ever made it possible for you to own a Tbird as well as the wonderful folks at Gibson for making such a neat instrument and finally our fellow club members, their families and especially our Queen. May they all be showered in love, peace, health and wealth. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Very well said. I have much to be thankful for and that includes my Birds and the interaction with all of you here. Cheers everyone!!

I couldn't say it any better! You all make this a really nice place to hang out and have some easy going fun. Many thanks to Carlo for all his knowledge - Cool cars too!
Have a wonderful day with your families guys!

My '68 Corvette, the only year they didn't say 'StingRay' on the side. The designers didn't want them called that. The sales department and customers did. By 1969 they were badged Sting Ray.

The happiest days owning a Corvette is the first and the last.

My current ride, 425 HP '06 JWT twin turbo 350Z. 60 WAS the new 20 for me.

Nice car Carlo... :)

But why is the tow hook sticking out in the front?

Thanks. That pic is a few years old. I had a problem with the turbo wiring that required a tow. After I had it fixed I left the hook in place for a few days (maybe a few weeks?). Didn't want to waste effort putting it back on if it was just going to break down again;). It's a California car, I drove it to Florida in 51 hrs right after I bought it. Here's the start of the trip in Santa Monica.

Do any of you know How Gibson marks their products? Could these really be Gibson products?

I'm aleays reluctant to believe what people I dont know say...

I can't say 100% that is how the humbucker-sized pickups are that I have (not without removing them anyhow) but I seem to remember that a couple of the ones I bought had a designation of neck or bridge pickup. Not in a position to remove one to find out today tho. The braided wire looks like what is on all of the TBird pickups I have had outside of a Gibson bass (TBird or LP style). Gibson has used this style pickup in several basses over the last few years and always referred to them as TBPlus so these could have come from a non-TBird model.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Getting back to basses for a moment... I just impulse bought a non-TBird, non-Gibson, non-Epi bass. :wideyed:

It's pretty cool, neck through, 24 fret, quality components. Hip Shot bridge and tuners, Bartolini P/U's. Active/Passive toggle. Pristine condition.

It'll ship tomorrow. :D

Ibanez?

Happy thanksgiving, hope your turkey's thunderous.
