How do you like it? It's pretty versatile isn't it? The thing I liked most about the one I've played is just how easy it is to play. It really fits me. It feel like a short scale but it isn't.

I'm a Fender guy so far, but I've had my eye on one of these for quite some time. Lovely instruments, and I've played one a bit too. I'm hopeful that the Mrs. will bestow one on me in the near future...

I've always been a Fender guy too. But I love the new bird I recently bought. It really is ok to be a fan of both brands.

Being a car nut I've owned two Corvettes in my life. A red 1971 Stingray LT-1 330hp 350cuin screamer and a 1974 Laguna Secca Gray LS-4 454cuin beast. They were fun to drive in a straight line and stop light to stop light, but quickly became a handful on twisty canyon roads. I was about 30 years old at the time and married to a car nut so my vehicular hobbies were fully condoned. Still married to the same wonderful gal but I focus my hobby dollars a bit more on basses these days and a bit less on cars (which have become insanely expensive).

Yep. Bass playing is a much cheaper hobby than cars. Or flyfishing.

I love to fish (fresh water, lake or stream) and have done some fly fishing - I'm a hack at it but it is really fun and I can see how someone could tie up a lot of time and money in that hobby.

This bass a amazingly built. It has everything the Cort A4 has but half the price. It plays fast and feels just right. I dont think I'll ever sell it. Even tho i haven't used it live. Its good for recording. Ill just use my thunderbird or Precision bass for live show

As others have said- Wow! This place moves fast! The ES 335 had second hit out with the band last night. I am so impressed with the Thunderbird pickups in that bass!
If I want full and smooth this is the bass, if I want powerful and angry- the Greco Bird.
Might have some surplus Fenders, just joking.

Hey folks ... Just bagged a natural oil finished T'bird Pro and for the record I only started plying bass a matter of months ago ... so please excuse the daft questions of an enthusiastic old beginner!

Can anyone tell me about how the Natural Oil surface is finished in the factory? What is used originally? Can it or something similar be purchased?

How do I care for it in terms of avoiding acquiring dirt/sweaty grime where its handled most? Yeah I can try to always ensure my hands are clean but I may get out of the habit?

Is it just a matter of wiping down diligently or should I be applying a cleaning product or some kind of maintenance oil?

Be assured I won't be applying ANYTHING until I know for sure.

Is there a manual of some sort included when a pro is sold new?

Is there any recommended reading?

Your sage advice is very much appreciated.

Its mostly a matter of keeping your hands clean as best you can, and being diligent about wiping it down when you're done playing it. Epiphone will send you the correct manual. Epiphone Support
