They're not all that bum of an aircraft. That model in particular is questionable.
The Max that is.
I was being a bit of a wiseass. That has never happened before.

The bad ones are grounded for the time being anyway. I don't know that Alaska has any of them just yet. That's the usual airline I fly on. Southwest and some others who have a bunch of them are screwed.

Boy my wife is gonna hate you guys. So I have been digging into the VP, love the white. Several videos to get a feel for the sound, rock solid reviews for the most part. This may be exactly what I am looking for.
Hey I work hard, make decent money...pretty sure I deserve this step up. Any gotchas or things I should look out for if I go on this hunt?
I’m a day behind, but what the heck.

There are apparently some VPs that are thicker and heavier. If that matters to you, and you’re ordering online, you should ask about the weight:

My experience:

The machine heads work, but they are not the smoothest. You may want to replace them. I haven’t bothered yet and I’ve had mine almost a year.

The pickup height screws heads tend to get mashed and you end up with some sharp edges. A little sanding with some 120 grit fixes that.

The peg head is HUGE and not all Tbird cases fit the VP. But that huge peghead is awesome!
