Thunderbird Club

When seeing this one I looked at the other 6 64 II's on Reverb. This one 1964 Gibson Thunderbird II [*Demo Video] has been on there for a while and the guy states a few incorrect 'facts' including "in '65 it switched to non-reverse", and "this is the original HSC for this bass". You'd think offering it for over 10k he'd at least get the facts straight...
I actually know him and was surprised that he would make fundamental mistakes like that.

Well here it is, just past midnight and still no bird/guitar delivery. Looks like Saturday may be the day.

Its probably a good thing it wasn't delivered today since I spent most of the day at doctors offices trying to figure out why I was having chest pains. Blood pressure was up around 190 over 130 and heart was slowly thumping down around 40bpm. Good news is no issues on the EKG, blood tests will be in the morning after fasting then on to the treadmill for stress testing.

The doctor asked if I was under a lot of stress lately - I smiled and told him yes, not knowing if I bought a guitar or a bass is killing me:laugh:. My wife wasn't amused at the humor:rollno:. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow:thumbsup:.
Your wife is not amused by truth? I hope it is a 2015 and you are completely healthy to enjoy it for a long time.

Hoping for the best in your health and new bass!!!

No, he generally really knows his stuff. I wonder what happened. It is an excuse to wander into Emerald City Guitars and ask.
I found 2 things 'interesting' about the demo video: 1)that he plugged into the vibrato channel on the Dual Showman, and 2)the first riff he played was in Db.

It's less that I'm slamming the individual - like I said, he looks like a nice guy. It's more that if a person was going on-line to thousands of people attempting to sell a vintage bass for a lot of money, actual facts would be nice and when in doubt - just talk about how awesome it sounds. :)

Absolutely. I didn't think you were slamming him at all. And, I am genuinely surprised that he got things garbled like he did.

No, it's a singer post.

Ours quit yesterday. Not entirely surprising, but there you go. We begin again again.

When posting the Singer sewing machine, I was going to write; "and both the car and the sewing machine are more useful than a bands singer." You'll find someone - I went through a few short-term singers before we finally found one who fits and is a team player. Sorta goes against the generalization of the breed but they're out there.

Around here drummers are the hardest to find -- luckily mine hunted me down, which has made everything easier. Guitarist is out of town for another three weeks, so hope to have a replacement by then.

Yah, darn drummers keep exploding in the middle of a song... then there's having a drummer, a good one at that - and having them be the one most in need of prodding to actually reply to an email or listen to prospective material. Being the BL is so much fun. :)
