Speaking of, we have our first all jazz gig as a group Sunday 3-5 afternoon. Should be a blast. Both our guitarists are 'jazz cats' at heart
but the paying jazz gigs are few and far apart. Me? I'm a musical prostitute. I'll play anything ya pay me to play.

I wouldn't know a Mötley Crüe song if I fell on it. The only thing I knew was Sixx played Birds some of the time. There's a part where he lamps someone with his Bird ... then is able to resume playing it. Nah. Anyway that was probably my first and last foray into the world of hair metal.

I'm not sure why he was using two 360 preamps and only one 361 Power Plus cabinet. A 360 can run four 361s. You can be heard on the moon if you do that. Two preamps doesn't get you anywhere so far as I know. But then, obviously, I don't know something or he wouldn't have been doing that. The guitarist has two 260 preamp heads, assuming those are powered cabinets. I don't know the reason for that, either.

I highly recommend both books. Some crazy $#!+ in there!! I like the way The Dirt was written from the different perspectives of the band and an occasional outsider.
Watched the movie and it turned out better than expected. The gear inaccuracies has gear nerds all a twitter on Facebook (Mostly the use of Epi instead of Gibson and the Widow headstock on the BC Rich models). Parts of the early story were definitely changed from the book/reality. I was a little surprised at how far Netflix went with some of the scenes of sex and drugs. I thought they would dial it back a bit. Just for the record I am not complaining about any of that being in the film. I just thought they would play it safe to appeal to a wider audience. It took me a minute to recognize the actor portraying Mars.
A common refrain from our youth: “No sir. It wasn’t me. We don’t have any M-80s.” And all of us still have all our fingers.

So yesterday, inspired by JJR, I outed myself as a Liz Phair fan. I’ll now also admit being a big fan of this girl. She was on Kimmel the other night and I really like her new album. This is from Kimmel; on the studio track both Keltner AND Ringo play the drums.
