Got my mobile rig all wired up and tested. The mic preamp casing ain’t pretty to look at, but it sounds nice!

I talked to the guy who built the pre amps. They’re in fact a 1:1 replica of API 512A mic amps. Not super common as a stand-alone pre, but that’s the pre that came in every API console from 1968-1974 or thereabouts, before the original owner was bought out. When he left, all the techs and designers went with him.
I deeply regret getting a 13” MacBook Pro...such a tiny screen is frustrating!
Can’t wait to use this on Sunday!
The old school label gun labels are cool.

Obviously. Still ... Case is good -- no one's going to think that's a primo piece of kit and lift it while you're looking the other way.

No ones ever gonna have the chance to lift it. My recording rig is somewhat humble, but I have well over $10k wrapped up in it so far. At this point in life, that’s a lot of dough for a lowly bass player :)
