Jeff beat me to it, but I also have that Gator. It's great, and Gator is a great company to deal with. This bag is all I use to lugging around my Thunderbird around NYC, including the subway where it takes its share of abuse, mostly banging into low-hanging overheads. Takes it like a champ and fully protects the Thunderbird. Not to keep going on about it, I realize there are other people, all with their own meaningful concerns and desires, other important parts of life, it's a big boat we're all in. But I just want to say THAT I REALLY LOVE MY NEW THUNDERBIRD!!! Excellent player, very comfortable to play standing up and strapped on (Ahem), and it looks just cool.
Ok, I guess that's it for now. Gonna get it through my own amp today... more later, I'm sure.
Now I'm looking for a case or a gig bag...
Congratulations! I believe the Gator ProGo is what you're looking for. I think it's the polyfoam you're talking about. You'll just need to remove the bottom inside pad to fit the Thunderbird. This just means you need to be relatively careful when setting it down. In all the years I've been using it this has never caused a problem. So here it is!

So, anybody got any suggestions for poly foam cases? I like them more than hard cases or gig bags, and the ones I usually use won’t fit a thunderbird.
I posted this over in another thread by mistake... heh...
@JJR58 and anyone else who might be interested...
Plugged the new Bird into the Elf for a bit this morning. I've got it slung pretty low, so my right arm doesn't have a lot of bend at the elbow, but my playing positions for r.h. are still comfortable, i.e., both pup's as thumbrest, and right at the butt of the neck.
It's a lot of axe! Spans from head level down to mid-thigh- that and the shape seem to work together to make this a fun instrument to wear and lean into.
Sound-wise it's "warmish" and punchy, and doesn't have the rubber band quality of my P Bass when played without eq treatment. I really like what happens when I dig in hard- it just makes more good come out of it! The harder I play the cooler- not dirtier- it gets. I love that.
It's a very friendly neck, super nice to get around on. I have an easier time with the riff, for instance, to The Analog Kid by Rush on this bass than on the Fender, or the Squier Jag beast.
The setup is pretty good, neck seems to be tweaked just right, got lucky there. I think this Bird is in generally good shape, some dingage notwithstanding... judging from some evenly distributed light damage, I'm glad whoever had it went and put er away before something lousy happened to it.
The bass has a good vibe to it. If I didn't know better I'd think this Bird landed on my shoulder and decided to stay. Rescue Bird.
I'll be back with another comment or two, and will definitely be playing this at our gig next Friday!

Do you have both pickups on full? If so, try rolling off the bridge pickup a little to get some more grind to it.I posted this over in another thread by mistake... heh...

Yep, I like it with just a dab of bridge p'up in there. Some fat, some grind, and still clear and punchy. What a cool bass. I should've had one of these 40 years ago.Do you have both pickups on full? If so, try rolling off the bridge pickup a little to get some more grind to it.
I'll try that next. Band rehearsal needed a shot of nitro...Yeah, those TB+’s are loaded full of dynamite. Also might try rolling back a little lows to really let those mids tear through.
Sounds pretty good to me.Is $100 a good deal for a used-but-in-good-condition Coffin Case? I'm trading a DOD Gunslinger overdriveand a new-in-box Sennheiser SM-57 clone for it.
Thanks Mike!Sounds pretty good to me.
I guess there is some upside browsing the web with Lynx.

Then maybe they'll wait for me to make some money! Lol... I'm all about it man! They chose you. You don't have a say in it. As Jeff already noted. This is self evident.
Yeah. Thanks Jeff. That is rockin good news CB!
