Thunderbird Club

No, it was something about buying a LOT of guitars. Strictly speaking I have one more bass than I need -- one I'm playing and one spare -- but it's nice to have one of each of the main flavours -- Reverse, Non-reverse and F-bird.
No, you aren't doing dog math. It's the basis of all calculus and other forms of higher math. It is never one more than you need. You are thinking about it as a non-middle aged man kind of person for some reason that I can't quite place.

One of the things I love about SF is that the city is small - 7mi x 7mi - and it makes anywhere in the city walkable (for me at least).

Yes! Very European-feeling that way. We took more Ubers in Ireland that I prefer, but my wife has a hip and knee issue that just won't put up with as much walking as I like. I think we averaged 2-3 miles a day this trip. On my own, it's at least 5-7.

First night out for the new to me Classic Pro Bird, rehearsal. We're being "auditioned" by a sound guy. He had his first gig, as a stage hand, at Woodstock. Since then he's worked with a whole slew of major names, including 19 years touring with Joe Cocker's band.

Larry... something. He's locally known as something of a curmudgeon. I'm looking forward to working with him.

At that level of expertise and cool factor, curmudgeon away!

Had to run a bunch of errands, but as promised, here’s the Greco!

Close up of the Greco. Super dark finish, but I think it looks very nice. Hate the bridge cover, but then I hate all bridge covers equally :)
Pickup location is much different than a modern Gibson (is it closer to a ‘76? I’m not an expert since I can’t afford a vintage Gibson anyway). Headstock is much larger as well. Top dots on the neck are really tiny and hard to see on a dark stage.
I wish I could change the strings. These are way beyond dead, but that’s how the owner likes em. Here’s the Gibson for contrast

I would definitely love to find the right Greco at the right price. Super nice bass!

That's nice.
I really wish Gibson/Epiphone would have stayed with that p'up spacing. I think the VP is pretty close to what the Greco is. Also no expert here.

That bridge cover..........weird.

Here's mine after I put a Badbird bridge on it, note the holes for the bridge cover, not on the center block.
