So anyway ... yeah, as @Nocturnal Andy says, the way you dress and so forth can be quite important if you are trying to carve out an artistic niche.

Crimson Sparkle have gone into lockdown. No more daft publicity-at-any-cost photos, no more dodgy Zoom recordings out there on the web ... and no open mics annoying people with loud music they don't want to hear at beer barns in the suburbs (distracts from pouring their money down the poker machines).
Wait..... You are still gonna let us hear your recordings right???

I’m in the hospital 5 days straight now and you gotta lay this crap detail on me? I CANT COVER EVERY SINGLE TASK ON THIS DESIGN! For gods sake, pitch in and do your part so we can get these things out the door and on the shelves people!!!
I did just take my meds, why do you ask?
Sounds like the voice of reason to me. Meds? Nah. No asking. Just saying.

Nah, he's fine.
No he isn't! He has way too much time to think about stuff. Do you realize how debilitating thinking too much can be? We gotta spring him before it is too late, before the becomes an intellectual! Fate worse than death! He might even be happy to see Hank! Oh, the humanity!

So... had rehearsal tonight.
This is my second outing with the TB.

To give some perspective on this opinion...my other bass (ESP fretless Bunny Brunel signature bass) is a monster flexible beast. I can pretty pull off everything with it.

But MY LAND. The growl. The punch. The SUSTAIN. I'm running with the stock Probuckers supplied on my VP. It is absurd how it just hangs. At our church this evening, the ceiling mounted subs mount bracket was rattling as a result of this particular instrument. They scheduled someone in maintenance to install some kind of insulation to fix it for Sunday.

I'm super impressed with it. Loving this bass.

My band (not the church team) plays a mixture of blues, classic rock, and country, and I'm exploring where to plug in with the TB. It's so extremely different that I find myself relearning riffs.

Sorry for the long post - but I wanted to really walk you guys through my feelings of discovery as I reinvent myself with this bass.

It's absolutely awesome.
Sounds like you have been chosen. When a 'Bird picks you, that is it and there is no going back to being a mere bass player again.

I know you're kind of joking Will, but the truth is, Men are not ugly. I think there are some societal constructs that suggest men shouldn't care about their appearance (or themselves) in the same way that women do. I don't agree with it, men are every bit as attractive.

My example would be one of my fave '80s bassists, the late Benjamin Orr of the Cars, always stylish and handsome and of course a great player.

Hi Club! I'm now the proud owner of a brand new Epi Thunderbird Vintage Pro in Tobacco Sunburst.

I really dig the guitar. Headstock is super heavy, so I'm gonna put some weights in the body cavity to even it out a bit. I'm not exactly a purist, so I'm thinking about playing with the pick guard. I'm under the assumption that the pickguards for the Epiphone models and the Gibson models vary in some respects. Most places that do custom pickguards don't have the template for my exact instrument.

Does anyone in this forum have any experience with this?
Congrats on the VP purchase! One of the best bass values out there.
JMHO - but before I'd add weight to the body of any bass for better balance I'd reduce weight at the headstock. Look into hipshot ultralight tuners, they'll make a huge difference over standard weight tuners and may eliminate the need to add weight anywhere else.

Dude, I just effed up my back golfing today (drove the green on a long par four hole but am now paying for it) don't bogart the meds!
Had hoped for a speedier recovery for you, can you please hurry it up a bit, I'm getting worried for you.

Thurderbird Thursday.

Classic white and Polka Dots.

V - You do realize you could easily be a leg model.
BTW - very sharp yet practical looking shoes. So often ladies shoes seem to sacrifice comfort for style, those look like they have a large dose of both. Lookin sharp as usual.

Kat - excellent move! Your band will only be taken as seriously as it presents itself. Get established first, and then if the timing is right and the desire is there feel free to loosen up, but get established first.

She is so f'n serious....
And watch yourself.
I stopped watching myself years ago, it got boring.

Seriously, I always get a good feeling when others succeed. Love to see everyone on this thread reach or even exceed whatever goals they've set for themselves. We all play one of the best tools ever made for this profession (and I really love the way you've visually personalized yours, too cool!) the only thing holding any of us back is drive.

On that note, I'm gonna hit the practice room for a while. Later gator.

This recovery has been kinda shocking/unexpected/tragic ... nothing I’d describe as a good thing :/

Being to the left and slightly behind, you don't have a great angle, but she is distracted with her playing so you could get a good look at her boobs. And your guitar player has achieved target lock on someone in the audience.

I wasn't going to respond, but thought about what goes through my mind during a performance. As it's my band, I'm generally assessing the overall sound as we're playing - how's the mix?, how's our tempo?, are the vocals loud enough?, are we too loud? how's the feel? Frankly I barely am aware of the audience other than after the song has ended - I ask "how's the levels?" because many times I can't tell from my vantage-point and sometimes there's no sound-person. (or there is one who isn't helping the situation) If my eye wanders to the others on stage, it's usually to make eye contact for a cue or to connect with them in our joint efforts. We're adults and we're bandmates unified in our goal to provide entertainment playing music.
