Thunderbird Club

Dylan, sorry to be slow getting back to you I'm on a trip with the band until Monday, I have your pickgard scans on my work computer. Regarding the headstock on my BaCH NRs I airbrushed them black with lacquer base model train paint then over coated them with clear gloss, less than an hour of work
the BaCH logo is very thin...it actually sands off easily without really marring the finish...has to be done carefully though..

was at the Tesla plant yesterday and the talk is that by 2025, your Tesla will drop you off at work and then go UBER/Lyft folks around (driverless) and then pick you up at work when done. Tesla would take your car payment and 30% of the proceeds and you pocket the rest.....buh bye UBER (who's surprisingly not doing so well after the IPO) and Lyft.......Asimov's "malarkey" wasn't far from the truth.....:wideyed:..

Sounds great. Is Elon planning on upgrading the electrical grid to support charging all those cars?

My '64 Embassy arrived yesterday. Fantastic shape for a bass a fraction of it's age. I have some adjustments to do but it sounds fantastic. Has that thick punchy T-bird sound.

So when you start playing out with your drum kit will it be easier?
Having played out with the kit, the answer is no, it isn't. It was rare for me to do a regular bar gig on drums, though. It was usually a whole several set evening or a private party. With memory locks on the kit, I can set it up fairly quickly, but it takes longer than rolling the amp on stage and plugging things in. The thing about drums is that there's often a kit that gets shared over the course of an evening. Which means I hope to be the guy playing somebody else's kit, not the guy waiting until the whole shebang is done before I can retrieve my kit. So far, so good.

Playing my `bird tonight, I decided that the Roto 66s are done. The strings now have that dead rubber band sound. I had been thinking for the last few weeks that the strings just weren't what they were, but tonight I made the decision. Not bad though, I think they lasted me about 3 months, which is typical for me. But now I have to decide what goes on next.

I think my great steel string experiment is done. I appreciate why people like steel. Now I need to decide what happens next. Here are my thoughts, comments welcome:

Nickel Rotos.
Pure Blues,
Nickel Lowriders,
NYXLs, or
LaBella White or Copper White tapes.
Tapes, so you can tell us what they are like.
