Thunderbird Club

Speak for yourself. I have never hit a brown note(not a recorded one, anyway):angel: actually there's a live video in which I got totally lost but it ain't gettin' posted-unless someone finds it on a dvd.

Well, as far as that goes I've never recorded a brown note. That's what edits/over-dubs are for! :bassist:

Hi all!

Have you ever tried DR Strings Black Beauties on a T-Bird?
Can you please share your experience with them...

THANKS!

I have used Black Beauties at @GBassNorth suggestion.

I liked them. They are warm with a tame top end out of the package and don't really change over time until they are wearing out. They last about twice as long as other strings. The coating gives them a texture that isn't sticky, but I would describe as grippy. If you can't get over the feeling, you'll hate them. If you like/don't mind the feeling, they are a great choice.

It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours.
It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.
Buddha

I like another quote from Buddha:
If we are like rock and something cuts us, it leaves a mark for generations.
If we are like sand it will leave a mark but it will soon be gone.
If we are like water it will disappear forever.
But start bringing a gun to these knife fights.

I think @Gaolee might use them the most around here. He can explain them better than I can. I’ve had a set on a Goth for a few weeks. It took a few hours to break them in/get used to how they feel. They sound pretty good to me.

To early for me to get into being concise and specific. That's a good description.

I use Black Beauties on several basses and really like them. To me they are like slightly broken in DR High Beams. Not as bright and zingy as brand new "normal" strings, but still lots of life to them. Not sure any of this makes sense because my caffeine hasn't kicked in yet.
