Thunderbird Club

Thought you guys might like to have a look at the unseen component in my Rig. Various types of boost pedals for the most part, my secret weapon is the Soviet Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi. Left to right Big Muff, Ibanez Bass Tube Screamer, Whirlwind Compressor, DOD bi-fet pre amp and Korg Pitch Black tuner .View attachment 3441886

I'm super impressed. Mine don't work so well when they aren't all plugged in. You got some serious mojo, Scott!

What decided you on each pedal?

Lol the unplugged one runs on a 9 volt. The Big Muff I use for power chords, lead riffs and general mayhem at the end of songs, the Tube Screamer is a stack in the box in case I'm saddled with a clean sounding backline. The Whirlwind is a Dyna Comp, and the DOD Bi- Fet pre amp I use to bring up the level of weaker output basses, also doubles as a mild over drive. Lastly a Korg Pitch Black tuner.

Dude, shoes! Just barely. Is it an orange amp or cab? I like the orange amps, they are just a bit too spendy.
The Orange is my portable rig. ;)

No orange basses, and the backpack does have a high viz orange stripe on the front .

The bass closest to the amp looked orange in the photo. Is it white (or silver) and just reflecting the amp color?
EDIT: Never mind. I zoomed in and realized it's a natural finish, picking up just enough orange to make the whole thing look orange on the smaller photo.

a little rough but whole lotta fun...BaCH into my Eden 350 into a GK 4X10....'em mountain folk sure are appreciative..:D...kinda sucks being behind the "load bearing " column..

 :bassist: Hah! My local dive (Winters) has a similar beam on my side of the stage! Luckily with a quartette I can move where your guitarist stands (away from the column!)

For those of you who use practice/smaller amps (100W or less), what do you like and why/why not?
Also, are any of the smaller amps built into real wooden cabs any more?

I have an Acoustic B20 (1x12" 30? watts) at home to learn songs on next to my computer and it actually has great tone! I've used it for small venue's and it holds its own. It was about $100 new and it's not made anymore but I've seen them used for peanuts. My main amp in the early days was a 70's Acoustic rig and I was pleased that their new iteration sounded so good! Not sure what it's made of though...

nah,it's a dive bar all right but it's been a live music joint since the 40's..so little, a different (lots of musician patrons) vibe..

Exactly - just like Winters that is around 100 yrs old! :bassist: It's the same old story - the place is old and has mostly been a 'biker bar' with crappy music for years. The current proprietors (for the last 7-8 years) love music, get it, and when they took over everything changed. The people who have the responsibility to manage/run the place make the difference.
