So, when this showed up... I was... concerned.

No packing either, just a box in a box. A box with a damp wound in it.

But, luckily the bass seemed okay! Needs a setup tweak but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Even have a stand that works with it!

That sucker likes being played with a pick doesn't it? And it goes VERY nicely with the new Sansamp YYZ pedal, I might add.

Was up on the roof today, flagpole check, the surface of the roof is an off - white color, the reflectance was almost blinding, I was in tears. Will's office is off the right - I waved at him!

That area was still damp. My guess is that something was spilled on it, the cardboard came apart and was then (sort of) taped up. It was shipped yesterday from AMS, would be shocked if it left like that. Or did they use a soggy box?

Either way, pretty poor packing. The Epi triangle box would have just bounced around in there.

Y'all should just keep some shades by the roof access. At my previous employer, I occasionally needed to go on the roof. It was white gravel over a rubbery layer, and there were cables and pipes everywhere, so you had to watch your step, which meant staring at a thousand suns under your shoes.

We need a review of the YYZ. I am waiting to see one locally.

Funny, I did indeed give it the sniff test (expecting something far worse) but no, nothing identifiable.

So far, I like using the YYZ as a preamp rather than thinking of it as an effects pedal. Great for adding some more bottom or grit... or both. It can go pretty wide as far as tones go. That said, I wouldn't want to keep messing with it on the fly. Either as a fundamental tone or something to use on a song by song basis though it is awesome.

Esther (daughter) sent a photo from near Anchorage in Alaska ~23:00 yesterday. The sun was approaching sunset. I'm hoping we get there in December like my wife has suggested. I love it in the summer but want to see the dark side as well.
