I'm of the opinion that Katy isn't that magnificent of a singer, but its hard to not look at her, she's darn good lookin.

Funny, the only 7ender I came close on was a Dimension; it was on clearance because they are discontinued. I would much rather an Ibanez; they sound great (to my ear), feel great, and are really well priced.

Tried several and liked all of them. Haven't gotten around to buying one yet.

There is also Jackson neck through (Dave Ellison model I think) that is really good and I have had impure thoughts about. Does a Jackson count as a 7ender?

As a relatively new member, I found this group to be very helpful and accommodating.

The thing that threw me off at first was what I perceived there to be very little actual Thunderbird discussion. I waded through pages and pages, not wanting to burden the group with redundant questions.

Then I figured it out.

This group churns through pages per hour where others add pages per month. It’s like a speeding carousel , and can be intimidating at first, but I know now that you can ask anything, in the middle of the swirling vortex, and within minutes you have folks chiming in.

What I’ve not seen is any hate or “search is your friend” snarkyness. Folks here are awesome, which is why the whole “7ender-hate” flame-out took me by surprise.

Probably someone just having a bad day.

I'd always encourage questions rather than the "Search" function, there's a huge pool of knowledge here and some really helpful people that want to share it. Some of us go way, way back - to places like "The Dudepit" and of course Last Bass Outpost as well as various local GTGs. Regarding 7ender, if you've been on TB as long as I have you'd have seen a great number of Gibson/Thunderbird bashing threads especially back about 8-10 years ago, most unpleasant. I can freely say that I don't have any desire to own a 7ender bass at this point in my life, I've owned 3 ('73 P, '78 J and an Aerdyne PJ) and found them to be lacking compared to my Thunderbirds, now I can walk past them in the music store and not feel any temptation, a black Les Paul OSB on the other hand...….
Anywhoooo, if we rib the the F here it's only in fun, kind of like Ford and Chevy, Pepsi and Coke etc.

Iron Maiden (the torture device) is disputed. Many historians don't believe that such a torture device was ever used. There is some evidence that it was mocked up to demonstrate how uncivilized medieval people were. The forst known one, the Iron Maiden of Nuremburg was destroyed during WWII.

Iron Maiden (the band) has been used by US Army Psychological Operations. But, in fairness U2 and Paul Simon are also on that list.

Paul Simon, used as a stimulant to aggravate duress, could mess you up pretty good.

My SR505 meets those criteria. I call it the Toyota. I don't know why, but when I think of it I always call it a Toyota SR505. It makes sense anyway- it's economically priced, sounds (runs) great, and is fun to play (drive).

If you actually read enuff, you'd have seen that many TBird owners also have 7enders-and play them. We just prefer TBirds. Rest assured, you won't be missed. We're ashamed you ever stained one with your fingers.

Well said. I check in most every day and missed all the 7ender bashing. I don't because I own a bunch and like some more than others--but not as much as my T'birds. If that's bashing, we have a snowflake issue. Life's going to be really tough..... Don't recall anyone mentioning him either, but I miss a lot of small things.

I have a 7 PJ and love it. Black on black w/maple neck. But a Bird to me is just IT.

About the only Fender razzing I've seen In this club has been light hearted tongue in cheek stuff more or less as a parody of the sometimes serious Thunderbird and general Gibson hazing that goes on in the TB GP. Tort comments here abound very much in the same manner as a reoccurring Monty Python punch line.
Anyone who is triggered by these things to the point of despise and disgust is probably reading way way too much into the comments.

I'd venture a guess that more than 90% of the members of this club either have or have had a FSO. I actually have more of those than I do Gibby/Eppi basses. And some of them even have tort guards.

There isn't a bad one in the bunch, if there was I wouldn't still own it.

The whole point of this thread isn't that we dislike Fender shaped objects, it's that we like Thunderbird shaped objects. I'm not aware of any member in this club that's here because they loath Fender, they are here because they love Thunderbirds. Whether or not they hold Fenders in such high regard is irrelevant, as is the occasional light hearted joking about FSO.

Some people need to learn how to read in context and not be so literal and thin skinned. Now, please pardon me while I go admire my latest Thunderbird acquisition.
