Thunderbird Club

Paul Simon, used as a stimulant to aggravate duress, could mess you up pretty good.
Might be this variant?

My SR505 meets those criteria. I call it the Toyota. I don't know why, but when I think of it I always call it a Toyota SR505. It makes sense anyway- it's economically priced, sounds (runs) great, and are fun to play (drive).
Ay...

I'd always encourage questions rather than the "Search" function, there's a huge pool of knowledge here and some really helpful people that want to share it.

I've been on TB for a long time and T-Bird club for years. I have always greatly appreciated the conversations and answering of questions without resorting to the time wasting and childish "Search is your friend" nonsense. I have found everyone willing to share information, listen to new information in a respectful way. I suspect that we all have pretty different perspectives on most everything aside from T-Birds. Yet genuine community can be found, despite some really different views other than the Bird of choice. That's called maturity--and is what tolerance looks like in real life.

I have been greatly benefited by members here, hope I've helped a few and am honored and consider it a privilege to be among a very diverse group that can but aside other differences, share some of our shared experiences as we all travel through this short life.

I did that too for portability. In the seventies I transferred tons of vinyl to cassettes. When the ability to burn to cds came out, I put tons of vinyl on cds. Sometimes spent a whole weekend doing it. Then I put a lot of music on flash discs for greater portability through an MP3 player. Spotify has changed all that. There is very little that isn’t available to stream. I think about all those hours spent just to have my music available all the time. I’d still do it if I had to, but I’m glad I don’t.
A lot of my cassettes are of a band I was in 75-82. I'm pretty sure none of that is on spotify-or anything else.

Someone could take the bull by the horns and get it loaded on spotify (I'm aware that there is a process to do this, but my knowledge ends there). Then you would get paid each time your fan listens.

[edit] this could literally add up to pennies per year!

That I would owe them?

I don't think I even need to go there. It's not that I don't like them- a lot of their tunes make really good rock tunes! It's just the plain existentialism that seems inherent in Simon's work, I find I recoil from it, sometimes, just a little... so I can see it as a way to break down someone's emotional defenses in a compromising situation.
Off to go dig that Slayer out of the CD box. :)

Well there it is! No wonder it falls so easily into place. Ibanez Soundgear is to Toyota as Alembic Distillate is to Lamboughini.

I have three fso shaped basses,
I have two FSO but they are those weird 6 string guitars with less low end. I always loved Strats (although technically I have a G&L). The Hagstrom was just in the right place at the right time at the right price ($20).
I also have a VSO 6 string.
But my basses are whatshisface’s nemeses, TSOs.

I had no involvement with PsyOps. The planners are centrally located (Pentagon) and are highly educated in psychology and the operators use very some specialized equipment.

Slayer? Fun music from the 80s...

Reign in Blood was quite the album for it's time.

I'm certainly no expert, but I was surprised how light my Studio is. Mine is just over 9 lbs. I think I read somewhere that the Studio bodies and headstocks are slightly downsized compared to the "regular" Thunderbird IV.

I had always thought they were heavier. Shows what I know.

I still haven’t started the list of mine with value so the wife doesn’t just have them hauled away when I check out. Need to work on that.
I am not worried about that. The kid will take what my wife doesn't want when I kick the bucket. Beyond them, it doesn't much matter so long as anything useful keeps getting used and enjoyed by somebody. I must be hung over or something - too much shallow philosophy for a Saturday morning.

Yeah, I've seen a coupla theirs that look promising. One feature I 'need' is to be able to boost volume-a little. EQing would be nice, too, but that gets into seriouser bucks.
I use my Portastudio all the time to archive old tapes. Speed control, EQ and other goodies can be super helpful. Not hard to find one.
