Thunderbird Club

Found online. This is totally my bag. I've wondered how a NR would look in this finish.

@BklynKen
The bar was one I designed and built (had some help with the stone work) in my last house. I finished off about 1500 square feet of the basement into a rec room with bar and studio area, a fitness center, and Home theater with a 12 foot screen and surround sound system. Here's a couple of pics of the bar
Nearing completion...

Pretty much done, pool table and studio area in the background...

Wow! I just had two pots of coffee and three beers catching up on the thread! :hyper: It's too bad people get hurt over some friendly joking around. I learned many years ago to simply not take things personally. I don't chime in much, but always like reading the conversations and learning what I can from all the experiences that get shared. We all don't have to agree except for one thing! THUNDERBIRDS ARE AWESOME! Have a great weekend everybody!!!!

I am not worried about that. The kid will take what my wife doesn't want when I kick the bucket. Beyond them, it doesn't much matter so long as anything useful keeps getting used and enjoyed by somebody. I must be hung over or something - too much shallow philosophy for a Saturday morning.

I had a cardio check this week (leaky bicuspid aorta valve). An annual thing, sometimes includes a stress test on a treadmill plus an ultrasound, other times just the ultrasound. It’s just preventative maintenance essentially, just to make sure the aorta doesn’t start swelling and the valves don’t worsen.

Anyway I thought it was the treadmill this year (it wasn’t) and was a little anxious about it.

I have a couple of good mates at work who were ‘cheering me up’ by requesting one of my ‘guitars’ when I cark it during the test.

(All good in the end)

Gig report. Outdoor festival, of course it rains during our set and every one ran for cover as the band played on. My wife captured this from backstage. The usual Hiwatt/Thunderbird setup. I was pretty happy overall, and the rig was smoki'n!

Not just pretty sweet, freakin awesome! I've driven a Singer 911 and all I can say is you better be a damn good driver before you get behind the wheel of one. They have all the power of the newer water cooled Porsches but none of the dynamic or computerized chassis or steering control. A handful to drive is an understatement. If they weren't so ridiculously priced I'd have one.

Here's a wee bit of background...

Tad more grunt than the Singer Chamois

That J looks great. Oh, did I just say that? Oh no! It is true though. I do not recall ever seeing one with that combination of paint and PG. Plus the ashtray. I am shallow. Looks matter a lot.
It's a samick body, cheap Chinese p neck, mirror Pg and a loaded control plate of which the origin I can't remember. The original samick neck is on a kit bass I'm building for granddaughter to mess with. She's only 18 month old but likes the sound of my grabber copy.
