Thunderbird Club

I'm certainly no expert, but I was surprised how light my Studio is. Mine is just over 9 lbs. I think I read somewhere that the Studio bodies and headstocks are slightly downsized compared to the "regular" Thunderbird IV.

The body is one piece and much more rounded off than a standard Bird, Headstock is smaller. They're cool!

Incidentally, one of those Catherine Wheel b-sides is Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely.

The Catherine Wheel. (really not trying to be an upstart here) well, maybe sorta.

Catherine Wheel... they have a sound that, combined with Rob Dickinson's voice, is a huge wall of sound- and yet insubstantial in a way. Not made of heavy material, yet they are weighty. Don't know how to be concise about it, but I really love that band. It's the sound...
I prefer Husker Dū's version of "Don't Want To Know...", but I get the Catherine Wheel doing it.
They haven't had Greg Hawes on bass for years, I wonder what the new guy plays?

They did get a lot heavier as of Happy Days, but definitely no Hüsker Dü. I really miss CW a lot. Saw them four times, and Rob solo once. They were great live.

I saw them once in Providence, at the old Lupo's I think. The original lineup, touring the Chrome album. Yep, they were a very good band. Great show, they slew it.

Ain't sayin' they're fer everyone. They give me all the tones I want with a small twist of the tone knob. Thanks again, Jeff!

Seriously. I don't care what works for everyone else if it doesn't work for me. There have been plenty of strings people recommended for guitar that I tried once and went, "Never again." The Cobalt Flats just suit me. A friend really liked the strings that came on my IV. To me they sounded good, but not as good as I knew a bird could sound. And I didn't care for the feel. (shrug)

Liner notes? I really like to know about the production of the album I'm listening to. Where it was recorded, who played on it, etc. You find out some really interesting things in those notes.

I want liner notes and artwork. And not just cover art. Some bands had amazing stuff in their albums.

You know, I dont get on TB very often. Almost never at all. the only time I ever visit the Tbird club is because someone mentioned me and it shows up in my alerts. 3 times I have been mentioned here and 3 times Ive read on the same phukking page some ass hole bashing Fenders.....again!. That is the whole reason I left here in the first place. Imagine the poor bastard that owns a Fender comes in here looking for info on a Tbird because they are interested in buying one and finds the Fender bashing going on. Sale or no sale?. I actually felt ashamed to own mine after hanging out here and sold the phukkin' thing. Hated owning it because it made me feel phoney and pathetic. Im awaiting on the moderator to delete my account for me, nothing more to see here. Some real good genuine dudes here but the ones who promote the consistent bashing should be ashamed of themselves. Check out the Fender Club, Ive never seen that shytt over there. Take care. Moderator do your thing!.

I've only been here a year and a half, but can't recall seeing any real bashing. Lots of cutting up, sure. Methinks you were taking things way too seriously. Either that or the bashers are gone.

My 30 year old Sony carousel has developed a tracking issue. I now have to play my cds through the Blu-ray multi format player.

My almost 30 year old Sony carousel developed a drive problem a while back. Some days it refuses to change discs, and some days it refuses to play 'em.

Taylor Swift was not available on any streaming platforms for quite some time. Now she is.

Or is it surprise/revulsion that I may know something about pop-tarts?

As much as I want to not like them, there are pop-tarts that have good songs. A discovery I made when I heard Dweezil Zappa's cover of the Britney Spears song Hit Me One More Time. I went back and discovered that Brittney has some good songs and is actually a really great singer. And that made me really listen to the Spice Girls (not as good, but individually a couple of great singers and a couple of good songs). Then I started listening to Katy Perry. Soon enough, I discovered Taylor Swift. So, I have a certain appreciation for some of the pop-tarts.

But I have no appreciation for any of the boy bands. Can't stand any of them.

My first exposure to Katy Perry was Fireworks. The video was so annoying I have ignored her since.
