I finally had something good happen at the end of 2015! On the 23rd my Mom passed away due to complications of dementia. She was mostly sedated for the previous week and was 85. She fell asleep here and woke up with Jesus, which is as much as anybody can ask for, if you ask me. So, because of an impending trip to San Diego in the next couple weeks for all that goes with that, I hadda put the new Schaller BM Light tuning machine machines on layaway instead of getting that instant gratification that we all crave. I decided that I'd get myself some lottery tickets and made some money, so I was able to throw a couple bucks at the lawayway with that. Next, a dude who'd been dragging his feet about buying an old computer of mine finally came through, so I was able to duck out of work and pay off the layaway while dropping off Chocolate Love to have them drop 'em in. I don't have a work area to install them bad boys, so I left it with Music Central. They'll be installed on Monday and I'll be able to pick it up on the way home from work. Not bad!

I am sorry for your loss Haji. I lost my mom last year just after my birthday in October. I was very close to her and she was very young at 66. I wanted to do something in memory of her so I took my fairly new 2013 Fender American Standard P-bass and had it redone. My mom loved the Ocean and her favorite decade was the 70's so I had the bass professionally refinished in Sea Foam Green with the 70's style headstock decal. I also had her favorite picture of her airbrushed on the back with her dates of life on it. It turned out perfect. Larry Davis at Davis Guitar Works in Florida did the refinish. The amazing thing is by the time I got it shipped to him and when received it back in my hands was a year to the exact date of when she passed. Anyways, here are the before and after pics.
Oh, almost forgot, I also have a 2013 50th Anniversary Gibson Tbird if that makes a difference to post here. Lol.

I picked up an Epi Goth Tbird on craigslist yesterday for 80 bucks. Had a problem with the bridge lifting out of the body under high tension. I picked up some stuff to clean the old thing up and adhere the bridge studs, and once it's assembled I'll post pics AND a sound demo since I want to string it up with GHS Precision Flats.

It's been too long since I've owned a Thunderbird, it feels fantastic.

A tip to avoid the bridge lifting out is to adjust the bridge so the front stud is slightly higher than the two side studs - This will also give the strings a slightly better break-angle over the saddles...
