Thunderbird Club

You are correct about how difficult it is to come up with a unique name that you would want to use that isn't already in use by at least one other band. We struggled with that in the trash/glam rock band and finally settled on one. Then the singer decided to go "solo" so everything stopped. Luckily his brain is so scrambled from drugs that he couldn't remember the name to steal it so I am keeping it in my back pocket.

There is a death metal band in Jakarta called 'Devoured' and another metal band in Texas 'Devoured TX'. So we are DEVØURED. No one is ever going to confuse us. We're the ones singing about glitter and unicorns.

Nice. Heard the name, but don't recall ever hearing any of their music.

Just checked out another vid. T-Bird in action!
Black Stone Cherry - "Bad Habit" (Official Video)
Scrap that--Firebird. Scenes moved so fast I couldn't tell at first. (Hate vids that change at the speed of cartoons for kids with attention spans of gnats.)

L give you a point for the Firebird

Water. Just water. It is hot out (and humid) and I would have to be pretty desperate to drink the lake water. For most paddling (typically 10km+) I carry 2 X 750mL bottles of water.

Thanks. When I see something interesting I grab a quick shot. Plus the phone is my emergency communications - I can dial 911 and there are police boats out on the lake who can respond.

I assume you have a water proof case for the phone ?

I recently downloaded a freeware IOS based synth which is pretty cool. This morning I laid down a couple of tracks and blew up Garageband. I'll go back to it later and reduce the levels on parts of the 'melody' track - you have been warned.

One of these days (drum gods permitting) we'll have some actual rock'n'roll (with Thunderbird action) posted up there.

Awesome! There is another The Sean Conneries in Slovenia. (seriously!) They are on fb but dormant. (?) I started our band 1st - they appeared right after. Our people are looking into it...

cool

My flats experience is limited, but compared to the LaBellas, Cobalts are more like paper than glass. Not sand paper, printer paper. The LaBellas are downright glassy.
Played mine earlier at a reggae gig. I got a 55-110 set, tuned then down to low-D, and they're excellent. Enough top end to get nice dynamics from my old BW 15" driver, but nice and phat, a good bump, in the lows. And they have enough texture to be slightly grippy on my fingers- just enough so that my fingers can agree with them. So far they're my favorite flats.
Edit: sorry, I'm referring to Cobalt Flats here! Doh...

If a band is on AllMusic they probably have enough of a name that you don't want to step on their toes.

Good, that's now on my "Looming Around For" list...

So! Got the Comfort Strapp X-Long and it works great for my shorty bird hang/placement. Still want to do something with the neck heel strap button but it's NBD.

Question: Anybody make black tapewound strings for short scale?

Cheers!
Yes, I forget the brand, but they have gold silk windings... Rotosound?...

I found the Fender Flats to be similar to Chromes in some positive ways (I don't like Chromes and don't get the love other than they sound more like rounds, as much as a flat can). The Fenders seem to have some mids and thicker sound than the Chromes, which to me seem clanky, boomy and generally hollow where I want some punch. But that's only my experience.
I like the Chromes on my JB shaped object. They are old, but I can still dig in and get some burpy, nasally goodness up high on the board.
