It would be great to go to a big show and hear the bass guitar!
I’ve been to a few dozen shows in the last five years. Best bass sound was from Zac Brown Band. Clear and bone rattling at the same time. I think maybe because it was at the Hollywood Bowl. Concerts there are special and the sound never disappoints me.

I thought that too, especially 'cos of the thick wings, but the "undercarriage" retracts outward like a Spit whereas the Hurri's retracts inward with a wider stance. Looks like a 'hybrid'(that's the nice word).
You are absolutely right! Great eye. Also the rear empennage and canopy looks like a Typhoon or some other Hawker variant...like you say, some kind of intentional (or not) hybrid..,

hmmmm....Hawker Hurricane...;)

Yada, yada, yada. Psssst. It was an inflatable prop, not a real plane.... There is no need for historic accuracy*. Eddie wasn't real either - it was a guy with stilts in a costume.

*Unless you are Lemmy playing Frankfurt in which case you want to be able to accurately say "bet it has been a while since you've seen one of these"

so I guess the “Spitfire” wasn’t “flying around”?.....:roflmao:

Addendum:

It was great to see a show and hear the bass up front in the mix.

Of course, IM is Steve's band...
I couldn't tell how many times I've been to or seen concerts and you can't tell when or what the bass is doing (Peter Frampton a few years ago, outside). Not trying to bash all soundmen, but it's frustrating that there's an all too common trend of not hearing the bass. At that Frampton concert I was close to the sound board and seriously thought of saying to one of the guys in the booth: "You realize you can't hear the bass, right? Some reason for that?" Figured it was a waste of time and missing a song. I know ragging on soundmen is forbidden so I'll leave it there. It just seems to be a common and curious problem. Kick sounds like nuclear thunder at times and can take your breath, but the bass...... So frustrating to see a person playing and you can't tell it.

I played in a Chicago type band in the late 60s. I know most of their bass lines. I sit in the audience at "Chicago" concerts and watch(ed) Jason-or whoever-play the line. Can't hear the notes. As you say, bass drum is there but no pitch. I'm guessing it sounds great through the sound man's headphones but take 'em off for a minute or two and hear what the audience is hearing.[end rant]

We all have faults.;):D
some of our faults are more obvious than others.
