Thunderbird Club

He comes to Texas on the lowdown, and never to Austin. Maybe he’s avoiding us!

Ha! Just don’t want to be ‘that guy’ self promoting all the time! We’ll be in Texas at the end of the month, but not Austin, I’m afraid. Just Spring and San Antonio :/

No man, post it! We'd all go a-whoring after each others' gigs if we could! Seriously, sometimes it doesn't take much to put a little enthusiasm into life.

Wow, are they actually playing live there? I thought TOTP was all lip-synced.

I think TOTP was lip sync almost all the time, this really does not seem to be. It's certainly not the studio cut, Bolder's clam being quite apparent, doubtful Bowie would have let that pass! Ronson is dang cool!

Tore it up across the peninsula yesterday...covered 170 miles in just over an hour.....NO ONE to be seen on the road...Sonoran desert winds brought the temp up to 121....

Finally made it to the Pacific coast which is a nice 67 degrees at 20% percent...much better..View attachment 3503068
I shudder to think what might have happened if you had stumbled upon a Federale.

Bowie always worked very quickly in the studio. One or two takes then on to the next song. There's a bass clam in the studio version, due to an incorrect cue and seeing as it was 'canonical', Bolder played it for ever more.

Yes I remember an off transition in that very tune... thanks for bringing that to remembrance!

The Eagle isn't shy.

Stumbled on this, I don't think it's been posted before, Mick's pretty damn cool and Trevor Bolder's sideburns are outrageous! There's even a bit of a clam by Bolder as they get towards the end of the solo.

I was very young at that time but Ziggy era Bowie with Mick Ronson is a huge part of my musical foundation. Thank God for my friends older brother. He introduced us to all of the Glam stuff back then.

Any “Play, Don’t Worry” fans? I had to review that album and couldn’t decide what I thought. Kind of a T-Rex meets Elton John, produced by David Bowie.
