Thunderbird Club

Just for grins...
Back to front, these contain:
  1. Epiphone Goth Flying V (6 string guitar) w/ Coffin case
  2. Epiphone Pro V
  3. Epiphone IV
I find it amusing that the largest case is for a guitar that is not a bass. When I bought it, numerous stores in town had Flying Vs. None of them had cases. Since I had to order one, I figured I'd go with the case that was both cooler and cheaper. Turned out to be huger as well.

The case in the middle is what the larger, more expensive Bird came in. It's not all that well made- cheap board material, plastic corners. Of course, I have no way of knowing if it was the original case. But given the problems the bass had, it probably was. Maybe it was a bad year for Epiphone?

I know. Boring shot (not staged). No shoes. Hey, no pants, either, so count your blessings!
I got a Coffin case for my 67 'cos of length.

1. What is under the green drop cloth? I suspect it is a collection of My Little Ponies and Beanie Babies.
2. What is under the blue drop cloth? I suspect it is Elvis' empty casket.
3. Have you joined the artisanal SD TV club?
Actually they're blankets. Not overly necessary here.
1)ancient console stereo w/ speakers hooked up to El Cheapo AM/FM, Cassette player, Turntable unit.
2)boxes of books
3)no, but it works, so 'til it takes a :poop:, I'll keep using it.

The PinkBird got strung up with Bass Burners a couple nights ago. They are aggressive sounding in a good way. I need to adjust the neck and bridge a little, because I'm getting some problems with the G grounding out high up, but other than that, they sound good. They aren't all silky smooth feeling like tapes, but they aren't tapes. The tapes may go onto the '01, since I'm not happy with the Black Beauties that are on it these days. The Black Beauties have been there a while and have been played a lot, so they may be on the way to going dead anyway.

So there you have it. All of you who recommended Bass Burners, I finally put them on a bass, and I see why you like them.

But do the orange silks go with bass color?

Great concert last night! Admittedly I am a fan, and have seen them before, but last night's show was exceptional. A great deal of energy and enthusiasm. Mick never stopped moving. He sang and danced the entire night. Keith and Ronnie had great guitar interplay and Daryl is a phenomenal bass player. He took an extended solo during a long bluesy version of Miss You that was excellent. As Keith points out, Charlie is a jazz drummer, and he sounded like one last night. The backup singers, horn players, Chuck Levell (sp?) On keys, they all delivered a great show. They took the stage just before 9:00, and except for stopping to introduce the band, apologizing for missing the original date, and thanking everyone for coming, they didn't stop playing until about 10:45. They left the stage for just a couple minutes, came back for a long, wailing version of Gimme Shelter, then into Satisfaction before saying good night. The show ended right at 11:00. I was lucky to have great seats, huge stage just to the left, full (or nearly so) moon to my right. Not certain how many more times they will tour, but they were full of energy last night. Very glad I went.

I can't resist one more comment about the show. As I am a fan of the Blues, I especially enjoyed their extended version of Midnight Rambler. They drifted into Robert Johnson's Come on into My Kitchen during the middle section of the song, before coming back for the last verse and an extended outro.
