Thunderbird Club

Stepped away for what seemed like a couple days and fell behind by 1,400 posts?!

Not much new to report, 2002 Gibson reverse ‘Bird is still my daily driver. Played an outdoor festival with really bad power that took out my 18” speaker. Got about 1,000 shows out of that speaker, so no real complaints. Driving home from Memphis and through some rabbit hole watched an entire live concert of Steve Hackett from 1980. I knew every single song but have no memory of ever owning a Steve Hackett record. That was odd. Couple live ‘Bird pics

Was wondering where you been. Welcome back!

By saying that, you are giving Gibson/Epiphone license to chose not to produce Thunderbirds in the vibrant heather/bmm and pelham blue we all want. Through sustained drooling demanding through channels such as this can we hope to see fun coloured Thunderbirds for us to buy.

So all I can say now is if we don't get those colours, it is all your fault.
:D
I wonder if Gibby/Eppi would ever consider selling them unfinished for those willing to do-or have done-their own finishes, rather than having to strip an existing finish/colo(u)r. With accompanying disclaimers, of course.

I posted this thread over in 'Pickups', and am linking to it here, just in case anyone with p'up expertise has an insight to offer. It's *(not)* THUNDERBIRD related per se, it concerns setting up my "Toyota SR505" with better-than-the-stock pickups... But, I know that a lot of us THUNDERBIRD PLAYERS AND ADVOCATES are *hip to a lot of solid general knowledge about playing, fitting, building, etc.,* so I'm making that thread accessible here.
Thanks for any advice, interest, as usual!
