I wonder if Gibby/Eppi would ever consider selling them unfinished for those willing to do-or have done-their own finishes, rather than having to strip an existing finish/colo(u)r. With accompanying disclaimers, of course.
Looks like #888 might be visiting #62 in the twilight zone...

gnarly looking bass! what is that thing? double neck Dano with a P neck? bizarre....
Every morning. It must be a 'Bird thing.Man, tough crowd this morning...![]()
It wouldn't be too heavy, but who knows how it would balance.Yes, very bizarre custom dn bass. Being basically a Dano Longhorn, at least it wouldn't be too heavy.

If the dude from Craigslist shows up, I’m in.
#62 is dead. Long live #62.Now I wonder - was this `bird related? And if so, was it because the guy from CL did or did not show up? I suppose he is now residing with #62.
Looks like that old 2am joke about taking some hottie home from the bar and waking up the next morning to a shocking surprise. That is quite extraordinary. What exactly is going on at 8:43? or is that the Twilight Zone part...![]()
The Coral(?) Wasp I had was neck heavy as well. Same thing with the non-adjustable neck and steel reinforcement beams. Mine did not have a tilt-heel system at all. The tilt was all spare change when I got it sorted.I've never played a Dano Longhorn, much less a dn so I can't say but the "long" upper horn is where it optimally should be for good balance. My '68 (Dano) Coral is neck-heavy mostly because it has 2 steel beams that run the length of the neck. (no truss-rod) I don't know if all Dano's from the 60's are like that or not.
it also has the tilt-heal system (metal stopper)

It probably balances just fine... in an inverted vertical position. It wouldn't be too heavy, but who knows how it would balance.
