That's a sweet Thunderbird at a good price! He's a club member and I know him from LBO as well.
Agreed! Wish i could scrape up the dough. Just no resources right now, Damn!

Which video?Other than the technical glitches early in the video, this may be the perfect 10,000 Maniacs live recording. The only things missing are more Natalie dancing and a THUNDERBIRD. (That said, the bass on this is beastly).
It is? It's so perfect that we can't even see it. DON'T EVEN LOOK AT IT!Other than the technical glitches early in the video, this may be the perfect 10,000 Maniacs live recording. The only things missing are more Natalie dancing and a THUNDERBIRD. (That said, the bass on this is beastly).

If it didn't have a Thunderbird, why would you want to look at it?
Yeah, that iv chord is tricky with its b3...
And without it, you'll never make any money.

(Sorry that was missing at first. Ugh.)

Thanks for posting that (in spite of zero bird content). In the late 1990's I was very much into NM and everything she did. After a stressful day at work there was nothing more relaxing than putting a mix of Natalie Merchant, Mazzy Star and Cowboy Junkies in the CD player. Definitely not upbeat music, but perfect for unwinding nerves and removing stress.
Two country songs? I know the one with the wife/gf that leaves, the dog dies/runs away, and the pickup truck stops running. The IV is easy enough. It's that vi that makes things a little more challenging. But, once you figure it out, there's only two country songs, three blues songs, four rock and roll songs (one of them is a punk song), and about 50 million jazz songs. Stay away from jazz. It's too confusing.
Yep, those are the two. Both of 'em have a vi chord thrown in there somewhere. In the first song, the vi chord comes after the dog decides to leave, too. In the second one, the vi chord comes right before a tin plate of beans. Two country songs? I know the one with the wife/gf that leaves, the dog dies/runs away, and the pickup truck stops running.
What is the other one? Or are you including western in that in which case I now that song too - the one about being out on the range, eating beans and heading back into town.
Jazz is pretty easy to fake. Just play what you want and scowl at the keyboard/guitar player like he/she is doing something wrong. If they give you any grief just claim that they are hacks because they are playing the simplified version that they probably learned from a Real Book.Yep, those are the two. And here I thought it was all about looking around, looking at the drummer, nodding sagely, then playing random stuff while smiling in an inscrutable way, then looking around some more. I can do that playing a Thunderbird. Scowling while playing a Thunderbird is nearly impossible.Jazz is pretty easy to fake. Just blame the horn players for everything that goes wrong. That's the best thing about jazz- it's pretty much whatever you want it to be so long as you're really adamant about it.

Or just throw in a mistake or unrelated line and keep repeating it with slight variations.
