But the NSA, by definition, is tasked with monitoring other countries' communications. And CLEARLY Canada is a threat because they refuse to ship me old Traynor tube amps for free. I think my THUNDERBIRDs through a kilowatt or so of vintage Traynor gear would sound killer. Literally, if you got too close, but that's what the "STAY BACK!" signs are for.

New Traynor tube stuff sounds great! I am blasé about their SS offerings, but the tube stuff is great. And the cabs have a great sound, are incredibly durable and are inexpensive new (unfortunately, used they tend to retain their value too well).

On the weekend, I was discussing with my brother, the idea for a bass amp with an output section of 40 12AU7s. He offered an interesting modification - keep the input gain, but instead of having a master volume potentiometer, just have a series of switches - select the number of pairs of tubes running in the output section. So insane that I like it!

That sounds like an impedance matching nightmare.

Yo, Butcher!
How's bout you put a bit a learnin out there for us schmucks that might wanna follow your lead. Which boomer bangs the walls and which one stalls? If they're both hard bangers, do they sound very different?

Ahem....both have the „slow“ black poly finish....both have the big headstock...both have low action.....both were gigged....so what’s the difference....

VP pups sound a bit aggressive IMO, so I lowered the pups a bit, put flats on it and now it plays and sounds great now....

BaCH equipped with a Mike Lull T4 sounds great, but not like my 66NR that sounds like no other....as I was chosen by a NR (epi 1995)...
