Thunderbird Club

Absolutley spot on. I respect just about everyone's musical taste (unless they profess a fancy for Disco Duck or Muskrat Love).

I like the Police, or at least the first 3 albums. But after Sting left, I didn't care for his solo music. But there was one song that struck me.

Hey, Disco Duck and Muskrat Love are my two favorite songs and the greatest musical compositions ever written! ;)

Great cabinets too! My Thunderbirds have never sounded better since I started using SWR.
these are a pain to move around but sound scary good..

Wow that is thin! Hmmm, do I take it further?
Before you thin it anymore be sure to check the cavity depth you need to fit the volume and tone pots and still have a flush mount cover. 1" at the wing tips is cutting it pretty close. I suppose you could always switch over to smaller alpha pots vs the CTS size if needed.

I measured again and the center section is very close to 1.5", the wings taper from 1-1/4" to 1" (maybe +1/16") - the control cavity depth (on my '64) which is mostly situated in the thicker part of the wing is 1" deep which includes a 1/8" inset at the perimeter for the cover. Sorry for my first #'s - these are more accurate.

Because your control cavity angles into the thin section of the taper you need to account for having material there as the wing tapers to 1", otherwise it will pop through. The wings taper from both sides back and front symmetrically.

Wait, don't forget McArthur Park!
It makes me cry every time I hear it (mostly in agony). :roflmao:

McArther Park isn't in the same category as the other two - it's kind of in its own category... with these three - melodrama rock, a category I'm fond of.

Vanilla Fudge in there. I would be hard pressed to find a song they did that I didn't like...

[edit]

But you are right. The first two fit into the category of novelty crap-pop.
