How do I know which one I have?

I lost track here about what you're asking about... Are we talking about which bass you have or do you have a set of pickups, you don't know which model are?

Post a couple of pix - And maybe I can answer your question as I have both regular Epi's, Pro's, Classic Pro's and Gibsons...

No pictures at all?

Then it's gonna be a bit difficult to answer your questions...
Will take pictures when I get it back. Bought it from another TBer who posts on the Stoner/Doom Bassists thread. What's the difference between the Epi Pro and Epi Classic Pro? It's a neck through model, currently wired VVT (having it rewired to replace the tone knob with a pickup selector and one of the volumes as a push-pull to switch between parallel and series).

If it's a neckthrough Epiphone:

Classic Pro IV's have passive pickups and are available in Vintage Sunburst (same color as a Gibson) and Alpine White with black hardware - They have a 3-point bridge and Gibson soapbars with 2 screws:

Epiphone Thunderbird Classic-IV PRO

The Pro-IV's have active pickups and are available in Natural Oil, Transparent Black and Vintage Sunburst (way different color than a Gibson) with black hardware - They have a standard hi-mass bridge, soapbars with "Epiphone" lettering on them and 3 screws, active circuitry:

Epiphone Thunderbird Pro-IV Bass

Did this answer your questions, or are there other things you would like to know?

Additional note: pickups on the Pro-IV and Classic Pro-IV are almost identical in size...

Yes. Mine is vintage burst and definitely passive. Looks like it's the Classic IV Pro. Thanks!

There are several other models like Rickys that this seller has out. No sure on shipping cost.
Most buyers have changed out the hardware and electronics as they have found them sub par.

If you want a good flame thread, post up in the Basses forum about why counterfeit basses are great. Then never respond!

My oh my, aren't we coming along nicely!

BTW I'm rooting for Denver today.

You really can't mistake them from each other, as the active Pro-IV's have an additional battery compartment next to the control cover on the back...

The Classic Pro-IV is a REALLY nice bass, that comes as close as possible to an original Gibson - Both playing wise and sound wise, at a fraction of the cost... There is no need to change pickups on this - Unless you want that vintage sound and vibe the classic chrome pickups gives you..

Dont forget this multi ply "burstish" T-Bird IV Pro

That was exactly the one that caught my eyes as well... The rest are so so, but that particualr one really sticks out, and has a nice color/finish.

Maybe one day, just not this day.

Id be careful if I were you. Aliexpress instruments dont have a good reputation

I'm way to leary about buying from a website based in China. Frankly I cant stand buying anything from China.

I didn't...

That's what Epiphone calls Vintage Sunburst, hence my comment: "Vintage Sunburst (way different color than a Gibson)"... :)

I could also have brought up the 7 vs 9 ply (which is already listed wrong on Epi's website), and the Pro-IV having 4 knobs, and the Classic Pro-IV having 3 knobs etc...
