Thunderbird Club

I know some of you are Rush fans. I just had a few days interstate for work so bought a Classic Rock mag to read on the plane.
They had an article on Geddy Lee’s book signing tour(?) in the UK for his “Big Beautiful Book of Bass”. Evidently he kept asking everyone if they played bass. :D

Anyway, wondering if the book would be good for those of us that aren’t Rush fans ?
Not really a Rush fan. The book is really nice. I don’t own a copy yet, but I’ve hinted about it a few times.

Went to see Ford v Ferrari tonight (really good) and the theater was playing all sorts of speed-related videos beforehand. This came up. Lemmy with a Thunderbird.

That rather brief period during which Motorhead had 2 guitars and Lemmy played a Thunderbird. As I have heard the story, Lemmy asked Gibson to make him a slightly shorter scale one - 32 or 33" and they refused so he bought a Ric.

You're EXACTLY right, except that it was PAUL! :smug: In both cases!
We can debate who was most talented. And there are many dimensions; music writing, lyric writing, performance.

Paul, as writer/co-writer of many songs has seen substantial royalty income. But Ringo had few if any Beatles writing credits. His wealth has been achieved solely on the back of his fame. I will argue that converting fame to wealth the winner is Ringo.

Went back and listened to it again. For some reason I can't quite put my finger on:rolleyes:, Lemmy's bass playing sounds better.
