Well, I spent some time learning Run to the Hills yesterday.
Not difficult, but fun in its own way. Perhaps fun for me because it brings back memories of how much my dad hated that song. Actually, I don't know that he hated it, but it wasn't Jango or Barney so it wasn't good. Those being the only guitar players he would listen to.
But the point of all this is two fold. First, Mr. Arris should be playing a Thunderbird. It has the sound youwantneed for that kind of music. Second, quite a right hand work out. For Mr. Arris to do that for 2-3 hours a night is pretty impressive.
A test of endurance and speed. And most of their songs are like that. Fast, ok, I can do that. Long is difficult due to orthopaedic limitations. Long and fast (ahem) is a test. And Mr. Arris does it night after night for hours at a time.Long song that

I know some of you are Rush fans. I just had a few days interstate for work so bought a Classic Rock mag to read on the plane.
They had an article on Geddy Lee’s book signing tour(?) in the UK for his “Big Beautiful Book of Bass”. Evidently he kept asking everyone if they played bass.
Anyway, wondering if the book would be good for those of us that aren’t Rush fans ?
I am a fan of both Rush and Geddy, so I have some bias. And I did get my copy signed. In the short time you get, what can you say except, thanks for a lifetime of music and inspiring me to pick up bass.
I think there is value to non fans. There is a ton of information about basses and what makes each interesting. And he interviewed a number of great players. So a players perspective on other players.
I hope so. I mentioned it would be a great Christmas present for me!I know some of you are Rush fans. I just had a few days interstate for work so bought a Classic Rock mag to read on the plane.
