I don't generally, but for big band or concert band, it fits.I know I'm likely to seem a Philistine, but I hardly ever like an "uprightish" tone. Fretless or muted yes, upright no. Nobody's perfect.![]()

Actually rather a talented drummer too.We can debate who was most talented. And there are many dimensions; music writing, lyric writing, performance.
Paul, as writer/co-writer of many songs has seen substantial royalty income. But Ringo had few if any Beatles writing credits. His wealth has been achieved solely on the back of his fame. I will argue that converting fame to wealth the winner is Ringo.

Good to know.Gear update. Very pleased with this Ammoon wireless system for home use. The performance has been flawless and the charge seems to last a long time as long as you turn them off when not in use. I used them after almost a month of non-use and they still had life in them. They do seem cheaply-made, but they work.

I have been using a Shure wireless system for four or five years now. No interference yet. It cost a whole lot more than the Amazon wireless units. But, I suspect the technology is very similar.I was hoping someone would say they really don't work! I keep thinking about these or like sets, and want to be talked out of it. My real concern is the possibility of some kind of interference sending or receiving. Some places have a lot of electrical and other wireless signals floating around. I do, however, really like the idea of ditching a wire. A little scary as well from an inexpensive system. But everything good isn't outrageously expensive.
I do not intend to use these in a live situation; just to make it cleaner and easier at home. For a live setup, I like the tried-and-true cable. Plus I find these kinda silly-looking.
I don't recall ever hearing that before. The tone is nice and fits well, but nothing I would ever want to sound like. The odd thing is I even enjoy bluegrass music and never really cared for the DB bass in that either.Ever listen to Astral Weeks by Van Morrison?
An upright is it’s own thing and a bass guitar is a different instrument. You can sort of get one to sound like the other, kinda like you can get a guitar to sound like a bass guitar.I don't recall ever hearing that before. On older systems yes. Today, battery life should be more of a concern than interference. That problem was successfully licked awhile back.I was hoping someone would say they really don't work! Tone simulator of a cable? Hmmm.... My golden ears probably could not tell the difference at all. They are just getting started with the inexpensive simple units. I just saw a BOSS version that couples to itself when not in use - pretty nifty. It's double the price of the generic units but a good design and smaller. They offer two, one (WL-20L) with a "tone-simulator" of a 10' cable.
Battery life on my transmitter is something like 8 or 12 hours. Even when I forget to recharge it, it's never run out of juice. On older systems yes. Today, battery life should be more of a concern than interference. That problem was successfully licked awhile back.
