Thunderbird Club

[Grinch]

I hate this time of year. The crass commercialism of the holiday season. Rushing around to make sure everything gets done. Trying to figure out what to buy for the impossible to buy for, having to tell others what to buy me despite me not wanting anything. Trying to negotiate a custody schedule that will let me get a ski day or two in with my daughter.

[/Grinch]

But on Xmas day, it is all done. I get to have a great dinner with my family and spend some quality time playing games, telling stories, and having a good time.

Huh. Probably so, but I’m only an at home player now and concentrate on other things. I actually use them in the three places I practice. My G30s just work. At least so long as I remember to turn the transmitter off when I’m done...
I use mine at home almost everyday. I even recorded a track once and forgot that I was running wireless.

Not to sound like the Grinch myself, I'd like to say that the adults in our circle of family and friends decided long ago that we have enough and that we would spare one another from that pressure of the Holidays. We give the kids in the family, envelopes with cash which I know it's hard to believe, but they absolutely love. As for we adults, we bring wine, champagne, gift boxes of seasonal snacks and pot luck dishes when we visit each other and dinner is involved. So much better for all involved, IMO.

...but if anyone wants to buy me a Thunderbird, we can bend the rules! :)

I missed my dry weather window to get the lights up on Saturday - indicates I have first world problems!

It would be entirely hypocritical for a dyed-in-the wool infidel to to mark any religulous shenannigans, but NI Straylight (Pricing) is half price at the moment and no one will notice if I don't tell them.

They never got much notice here. Like so many from Oz, record company ignored them. Multiple lineup changes probably didn’t help. I only recall hearing them a bit in the mid-eighties then forgotten. Sad to hear.
Yeah, I figured that song was the only one that ‘might’ have reached some ears. I was a bit shocked as he was only ~ 5 years older than me. Used to see them a bit when they were a youngish band and I was in my going to pubs years.

One of the guitarists - Reg Mombassa - switched to concentrate on his art, and designed some Mambo T shirts.
