My understanding is that the engineers were more concerned with straight jack versus 90 degree angle jack tone, rather than the coiled cable versus straight cable tone controversy that plagues us bassists. :smug:
makes sense, they probably sweep Switchcraft, Neutrik, Amphenol...(and others) parameters as well...:D

Envy kills.

Tone simulator of a cable? Hmmm.... My golden ears probably could not tell the difference at all.

It simulates a 10' cable but actuates removal of an additional $20 from your bank account.

Battery life on my transmitter is something like 8 or 12 hours. Even when I forget to recharge it, it's never run out of juice.

Battery life on the BOSS is 'up to' 12 hrs - way longer than the cheap units which are 3-5 hrs.

A bit sad to hear today that Greedy Smith from Mental As Anything has died. Heart attack while driving, 63yo, and no previous heart issues.

I don’t expect you guys know them but this is their biggest hit

But I prefer their earlier stuff like ‘the nips are getting bigger’.

They never got much notice here. Like so many from Oz, record company ignored them. Multiple lineup changes probably didn’t help. I only recall hearing them a bit in the mid-eighties then forgotten. Sad to hear.

He has a bit of Mark Hollis in his voice.

Ringo has a very unique style and sounds like no other drummer - part of that is due to Ringo being a left-handed drummer playing on a right-handed drum kit. Also he's RINGO. ;)
I love the guy. He stole the show in the movies. To me, he is the epitome of a great drummer. Steady beat with tasteful fills. Like Fleetwood, he is so much an important part of the band’s sound.

I really don’t notice a difference with my bad ears.
It just rolls off a little high end, so depending on the rest of your gear, it’s negligible.
The G30 actually works as a buffer at the front of my pedalboard so I don’t have to be concerned with any of the pedals loading down the bass pickups.
And it has lots of dynamic range.

Agreed! Kinda like Bill Wyman. Not a flashy technical player, but played stuff that fit and gave the his band a signature sound/groove.

Huh. Probably so, but I’m only an at home player now and concentrate on other things. I actually use them in the three places I practice. My G30s just work. At least so long as I remember to turn the transmitter off when I’m done...
