Thunderbird Club

great band...love Webb's bass playing...subtle and substantial..

We do "It's My Life" in Gener80r, the 80s thing. I pushed for it, the non-No Doubt version. One of my favorite ever 80s tunes/bass lines. Some songs just "take you there", this one does it for me.
Great bass player, a lot to dig into with that band.

I never realized Ringo was left handed. I have also never thought about drum kits being organized "backwards" to accommodate left handed drummers. But as I think about it, it seems like drums would be less left/right handed than a guitar. More like a piano - comes in one configuration only.

My brother is left handed and I can remember many times my dad telling him that it is a right handed world, get used to it.

We have at least one lefty drummer out of four at church. I forget if it's Daniel or Vienna, but they're both drummers, and married to one another. (He also plays bass.) Whichever it is, there's a lot of reconfiguring of the drums depending on who played last and who's up next.

Well. Not TBird related. Time for me to go off the grid. Starting my Bday 2 days early. And I’m off for 2 days starting now. But ima gonna go off the rails. If I make out alive tonight. I start over again tomorrow. Cheers gang.

I love the guy. He stole the show in the movies. To me, he is the epitome of a great drummer. Steady beat with tasteful fills. Like Fleetwood, he is so much an important part of the band’s sound.

Agreed. It all depends on your definition of "great drummer".

Pictures with the fried chicken or it didn't happen.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! May this be your best year ever... so far.

Drum kits are not "handed" like a guitar or bass, but you can set them up to be left handed. I have played a kit set up lefty. It isn't as challenging as playing a left handed guitar or bass if you are used to right handed, since you can play a righty kit in a lefty way and vice versa. But it does weird things to the ergos which means timing can be off a bit.

It is a really well crafted bass-line. Didn't know 'No Doubt' did it but it's been done by a number of people. I saw 'No Doubt' once because I wanted to see Soul Coughing (great band!) - ND were entertaining for sure, but didn't inspire me to "follow" them.
