Thunderbird Club

Note...
Drill your hole a bit less than all the way to the pointy end. Let it dig it just a bit. And don't forget that the diameter of the bit should be a bit less that the screw's threads. They need to be able to bite into the wood.
Obvious to some, but it doesn't hurt to mention.

I appreciate you mentioning that.
A bass builder on another forum said that I should move the pin the where to where the upper left screw would go in a four bolt neck plate instead of the center top, like the old T birds. Thoughts?

'Tis the season...

It's been drilled and tested and now it works great!!!!

Thanks for all of your help. Why Gibson just doesn't put the thing there in the first place is just dumb.

I may replace the tuners with the silver ultralites, because the stock black ones don't really match anything else
I'm sure the new Epiphone NR VPs will have the strap button in the right place.

'Conventional wisdom' has it the strap button should go as close as possible to the point where it would be on an FSO. Then again, if you are an adherent to 'conventional wisdom', you shouldn't be seen within a hundred kilometres of a Thunderbird.
