This is a new one - I just found out via email that a (late 60's vintage Silvertone bass) I bought on eBay was delivered to my door... tomorrow ??? (Thursday Dec 12th) by FedEx - the current state of holiday madness? - let's see what turns up... tomorrow. :cautious:

Gorgeous bass. What do you mean “replaced headstock”. A repair or a whole new headstock (how would you do that?).
Literally replaced new headstock. scarf joint running from the nut to the 5th fret.

Can't beat a T-40! (But you could beat someone with it) I bought one new in '78 and honestly it was the biggest bang for the buck out there. $225 new with case. I was working at the House of Guitars at the time and believe you me the T-40 was a refreshing change in quality compared to what Fender was shipping us. I had two of them until recently but I have a early natural one in the collection. Great sounding and playing bass. Most are heavy as hell, later ones used alder for solid colors and can be a bit lighter. Still a good deal at 400-600 bucks.

Bought a new 2019 T-Bird from Sweetwater this week...Merry Christmas to me!

I've played pretty much everything, and it's easily the most comfortable (I wear 'em low) and well-balanced bass I've ever played. Not to mention that it looks great and just growls.

I'm putting on gold Gibson top hat knobs and I'm looking for a black pickguard w/ gold logo. Anybody selling or have any solid leads? Larry V. isn't making them anymore, and the first one that comes up f/ an internet search is an eBay seller from Asia. I tried purchasing a black pickguard from them last year for my Epi T-Bird... and when it finally arrived nearly a month later, it was a black Firebird guitar pickguard w/ toggle switch hole. I tried to contact them, and they ignored my messages and blocked me as a buyer. ***.

There are sources online for the TBird logo decals. Pickguardian(no affiliation, but happy with what he made for mine*)can make you one but he can't put the logo on-copyright issues.

Nice bass, Congratulations! I'm almost tempted to buy one of these just because of the chrome, but I've publicly sworn off new Gibsons.
