Wellll, they're in tune with something.Um yeah......... I didn't know this was still a thing.

I have been playing with a couple guitarists who tune loudly by ear. We have a show coming up. I bought a Snark tuner for each of them. Any bets on whether it will solve the problem?
Er, good luck with that. . .![]()
Um yeah......... I didn't know this was still a thing.
They are both good kids, good guitarists, and a lot of fun to play with. They just need some training. Can they be returned? Either the Snarks[unused]or the guitarists[untuned].
Caning? Cat-o'-nine tails? Colonoscopy? They are both good kids, good guitarists, and a lot of fun to play with. They just need some training.
Not so much. It would be a huge surprise to me to find that any of us could not do it in a pinch. But, why, when there's better options? Oh, well. I also have a couple ABY pedals that are essentially straight through kill switches if you don't have anything plugged into one of the outputs. They were cheap, and I have them for reasons that no longer apply, so I may donate those to the cause as well.Um yeah......... I didn't know this was still a thing.
I don't see how it's laziness, exactly, since tuning by ear is actually harder. It seems to be habit, plus neither of them seems to have tried a headstock or pedal tuner for some reason. They are kids. Excellent guitarists, but still kids. A little flogging will do 'em some good.If they are holding out against silent tuning, it's either laziness or an attempt at 'impressing' (someone) that they can tune by ear. Woopty-woo dudes - get with the program!
Now there's some thoughts.Caning? Cat-o'-nine tails? Colonoscopy?
c’mon...nothing wrong with using harmonics to tune by ear...faster...If they are holding out against silent tuning, it's either laziness or an attempt at 'impressing' (someone) that they can tune by ear. Woopty-woo dudes - get with the program!
They will tune with the Snark. At full volume.I have been playing with a couple guitarists who tune loudly by ear. We have a show coming up. I bought a Snark tuner for each of them. Any bets on whether it will solve the problem?
You said kids, right? 'Nuff said. . .I don't see how it's laziness, exactly, since tuning by ear is actually harder. Well, Dio ruined my bachelor party. 1984. The guys set it up at The Holiday, a joint in Santa Fe Springs that was famous back in the day. Dio shows up with his entourage. Our party got displaced from where were originally seated and completely ignored. We ended up leaving. Dio wasn’t even nice about it; a real *i*k. Haven’t listened to anything he’s done since. It got weird and I just couldn’t get into Dio.
I'm prolly in the minority(I usually am)on this, but I never 'got' him. Unimpressed, I guess.Well, Dio ruined my bachelor party. 1984. From my limited encounter, he is a legend in his own mind.I'm prolly in the minority(I usually am)on this, but I never 'got' him. Unimpressed, I guess.
I want one of those bridges so bad.
Well, you're still here, he isn't. Not glad he died, but I don't understand the adulation. From my limited encounter, he is a legend in his own mind.
Bought a new 2019 T-Bird from Sweetwater this week...Merry Christmas to me!
I've played pretty much everything, and it's easily the most comfortable (I wear 'em low) and well-balanced bass I've ever played. Not to mention that it looks great and just growls.
I'm putting on gold Gibson top hat knobs and I'm looking for a black pickguard w/ gold logo. Anybody selling or have any solid leads? Larry V. isn't making them anymore, and the first one that comes up f/ an internet search is an eBay seller from Asia. I tried purchasing a black pickguard from them last year for my Epi T-Bird... and when it finally arrived nearly a month later, it was a black Firebird guitar pickguard w/ toggle switch hole. I tried to contact them, and they ignored my messages and blocked me as a buyer. ***.

The VP headstock is part of the design statement. Nobody loiters on my left side for very long. The Vintage Pro sure is a looker...I have it in sunburst. My biggest complaint is that it's a bit of a neck-diver, especially compared to my other T-Birds with the smaller sized (regular) headstock
It’s always funny when us old dudes need to teach kids to use tech. Tuning by ear is an important skill, but they also need to learn musician’s etiquette. In 2020, that means you use a silent tuner when playing with others.I don't see how it's laziness, exactly, since tuning by ear is actually harder. It seems to be habit, plus neither of them seems to have tried a headstock or pedal tuner for some reason. They are kids. Excellent guitarists, but still kids. A little flogging will do 'em some good.
