Thunderbird Club

Hmmmm. I think the best Black Sabbath songs were when Ozzy was singer. But I agree, of the three Gillan was the best singer even if it wasn't the best era for the band.

And as much as I don't think Ozzy is a great singer, I enjoyed the first couple of solo albums, but I think primarily because he had great musicians with him and there were some great songs.
Ozzy first obviously..

You are an evil man. I suspect we would get along entirely too well.

I have had Jehovah's Witnesses knock at the door. I ask them about the 144,000 getting into heaven which they affirm. I then ask how it makes sense to recruit as they are only reducing their own odds of getting in.
Most JWs would now likely believe that that the 144k is full now (known only to those who have had it confirmed by personal revelation), and all that remains is something like extra seating, to use a not religious way of describing it. Most JWs alive today likely have never known one claiming to be in the that group.

c’mon...nothing wrong with using harmonics to tune by ear...faster...

Not slammin' turning by ear, I'd say everyone should know how. But a "loud tuning" (as was described) is unnecessary on stage. I use a BOSS TU-2 so that when tuning - it bypasses. I'm certainly not ahead of the curve on this one! :)

It’s always funny when us old dudes need to teach kids to use tech. Tuning by ear is an important skill, but they also need to learn musician’s etiquette. In 2020, that means you use a silent tuner when playing with others.

Checking the Scottish Register of Tartans (yeah, I had no idea either, and it is a government website) there is no official Thunderbird Tartan. However, there is a method of some kind to register new tartans.

@fasterpussycat being the closest we have to an angry Scot, I suggest she design and register a Thunderbird tartan so that we can all have matching butt bows.

Our ex-guitarist had a cheap tuner first in the chain before her Green Russian, When (and only when) the Green Russian was engaged, hitting the tuner would produce the most indescribeably awful clicking/oscillation. There's a reason people buy Polytunes and TU3s.

I'm more an angry Viking. Can do you a Blood-Thunderbird -- yeah?

For a while there, every guitar/bass player I'd see live had a TU-2. I have 2, one for home and one in my chain. Will probably last forever.

I have not had a problem with a Boss tuner. That only gets used with a six string guitar, since the wireless receiver doubles as a tuner when I'm playing bass. The guitar doesn't get the wireless treatment, since it lives permanently in the basement.
