Thunderbird Club

Well, Dio ruined my bachelor party. 1984. The guys set it up at The Holiday, a joint in Santa Fe Springs that was famous back in the day. Dio shows up with his entourage. Our party got displaced from where were originally seated and completely ignored. We ended up leaving. Dio wasn’t even nice about it; a real *i*k. Haven’t listened to anything he’s done since.
I’m going to put that on my song titles list:
“Dio ruined my bachelor party”

oh yeah, before we forget...TT right?..

Literally replaced new headstock. scarf joint running from the nut to the 5th fret.
Here you go. When the bass arrived the scarf joint had failed. The replacement is made of maple unfortunately. I cleaned, reglued and touched it up and it's been in service for 10 years. I should have made a mahogany replacement but I don't think it's coming apart anytime soon.

I don't understand how he had such a career. I never thought he was a great singer but he was replacing Ozzy and I don't think Ozzy is much of a singer either. From the interviews I saw, he came across as quite arrogant and a pseudo-intellectual. The kind of arrogance that I find quite irritating.

From my limited encounter, he is a legend in his own mind.

Pretty much sums it up.

I prefer Dio with Sabbath over Gillan who ironically, imho is the best of the three...

Hmmmm. I think the best Black Sabbath songs were when Ozzy was singer. But I agree, of the three Gillan was the best singer even if it wasn't the best era for the band.

And as much as I don't think Ozzy is a great singer, I enjoyed the first couple of solo albums, but I think primarily because he had great musicians with him and there were some great songs.
