Thunderbird Club

Brake drums have a similar sound when you hit them in the right place with a drumstick. There's things you learn.

and I’m just old enough to know about drum brakes, and adjusting them by reversing.

does the brake drum need to be rusty? Everyone - off a car - I’ve seen seem to have an attractive rust covering

I liked Dio.
I dug Dio Rainbow, the Dio Heaven and Hell Sabbath album and the Dio (by Dio) album. Never heard anything by Elf.

Mate and I went and saw him in Sydney one time. Really enjoyed it (must have - bought the T shirt).

Me too.

Not sure why there's so much Dio hate on this page but he was a master at his craft and a damn good frontman.

The diminutive demon of metal! May he rest in peace. \m/ \m/

I liked Dio, though for my own somewhat derailed headspace his take was an acquired taste, I was a little repelled at first although it was hard to argue with the quality of his work. Now I really enjoy it- the fact that his perspective, and expression of it, can be disquieting has become intriguing and kind of fascinating. He was uncompromising in his work, I think... love him or dismiss him, he was true to something, and that is meaningful.

I've been reducing my footprint/cartage/trail, since swapping my (really beautiful sounding) amp kit for an older GK 212 combo- which is doing very well by me and my band mates.
For those *Oh So Necessary* pedal things (don't mean to sound dismissive there, I'd still like a really good dirt-box), I've been sticking with a SansAmp Bass Fly Rig, a smallish pedal strip with chorus, octave filter mess, SansAmp circuit and a simple compressor. It does its thing, I only use some of it, maybe I'll find a cool use for more of it (doubt it). The most notable function is the muted tuner, which is great. I tend to lose or break clip-on tuners, have probably spent well over $100 on those bic-lighter things in two years. You're welcome, Snark.
Less stuff, getting to playing and thinking about my bass is where it's at, I'm way happier... lol, it's almost like being released from jail to find I don't have to think about peripherals as if they're my car keys- nothing like being paralyzed because of some small, lose-able, needed item!

Lol, gawd. I'm going for a cortisone shot next to the base of my spine pretty soon. At least V's legs look like they're in good trim!
I've had a few of them in different joints.

The good - the pain stops very soon afterwards. There is a local anesthetic mixed in with the steroid, so there is immediate relief.
The bad - it is a long needle and they have to get it to the location where the drug is needed. Don't flinch and hope that whoever is doing the injection has good landmarking skills.

My personal experience is mixed; with relief ranging from a couple of days to several weeks, but I tend to 'live with it' until things are no longer manageable and it is better to seek earlier intervention. However, there are people that get long lasting relief - several months or longer.

I didn't say Scottish, just closest we have to a Scot.

I know, you are more a Minnie the Minx type. Minnie I don't think was ever stated to be Scottish, but shares many of the stereotypes.
I have some pretty deep Scot/Irish heritage, definitely some Viking as well :) Keeping my temper under wraps is a full time job.

I'm seeing this as a way to hold off some of the annoyance so maybe I can build up some small muscle groups around that area and get relief that way. I don't think I'm going to not have to deal anymore, I'm just trying to get the pain managed so it's not distracting me all day anymore. I don't know if that's a winning game or not.
I can deal with not flinching, I just hope this guy's a good aim. I've been moving from conservative, to less conservative, in stepwise fashion.

I had a cortisone shot in my right shoulder (rotator cuff) and the guy aimed the needle with an ultrasound.
Apparently he placed it perfectly. Two days later the pain was gone.
It came back slowly in about 3 months, but it never got really bad again, and it doesn’t really bother me.

Now my left shoulder and right elbow are ****ed:bored:
