Thunderbird Club

You guys seemed to like the Baby Animals. The Divinyls were sort of a proto Baby Animals. Rock music, with the female singer and the lead guitarist being the constant thread.

I’m pretty sure you know one of their songs, but even before Chrissie Amphlett was touching herself the Divinyls were putting out some good stuff.

Always liked her voice. They had moderate success here. A tad overproduced IMO (typical 80s). But yeah, good stuff.

I was looking at a used cab at a GC, GK 4x10. I can’t recall the actual model. The sales kid hooked it up to one of those. Didn’t like what I heard. No idea if there was something wrong with it (there may have been, the price was very reasonable) or I just didn’t like the amp.
it would have sounded pretty crappy....they are meant for low efficiency NEO drivers...kids....

You have a JC yet?

Funny thing is I don't have any GAS to speak of right now. Maybe specific hihats, but that's it. That's a really low level of GAS, too. As in, it doesn't turn up much. The drum kit sounds good, and anything that needs changing can be done with heads or simple tuning. All the cymbals sound good. The bass guitars I have make me happy. A '64 would be nice to have, but I don't know what the point would really be. The upright sounds good and feels good. Another one of those would take up too much space anyway. I already have way too many ribbon mics. Repairs and maintenance come before a bigger pile. There's no urge to look at amps or pedals or anything else like that. I'm even satisfied with the van and the motorcycle. The world must be about to end.
The GAS is incurable. Prilosec doesn’t help. Just when I think enough is enough, something comes along and I can’t resist. I am pretty certain I’ll get an ebony ‘20 Gibby bird. And the Epi VP NR in Pelham Blue (it will happen!). And there is a blue LP Jr. with my name on it somewhere.

I see your #ThunderbirdThursday, and raise you the Goth Bird after I strung it up with black beauties, because more black is more Goth, right?

Awesome! Never heard of her. We’re gonna shoot the break!

When I looked her up (good hunch that she did ‘To Sir’) I read that she went to Vietnam as an Entertainer at 17 yo & 4”10’. The youngest and smallest entertainer to go, I assume Australian but maybe any.
Had to get evacuated when Long Tan heated up.

This thread is DANGEROUS. I have a mere SEVEN basses ( which I used to think was a lot ). Only ONE is a 'Bird. I feel deprived. I am retiring at the end of January so I will not be able to keep up with the rest of you folks, and I will just have to be content with the paltry SEVEN basses that I have - one for EACH day of the week. I think some of you must have warehouses in your yards to store all the 'birds to keep them from flying away. Am I wrong? Am I making a HUGE mistake by retiring and denying myself of more 'birds? What has my life come to? Is there an afterlife where I might obtain more 'BIRDS some day, hopefully far down the road?

Where is my coffee?;)
