Thunderbird Club

This thread is DANGEROUS. I have a mere SEVEN basses ( which I used to think was a lot ). Only ONE is a 'Bird. I feel deprived. I am retiring at the end of January so I will not be able to keep up with the rest of you folks, and I will just have to be content with the paltry SEVEN basses that I have - one for EACH day of the week. I think some of you must have warehouses in your yards to store all the 'birds to keep them from flying away. Am I wrong? Am I making a HUGE mistake by retiring and denying myself of more 'birds? What has my life come to? Is there an afterlife where I might obtain more 'BIRDS some day, hopefully far down the road?

Where is my coffee?;)
I have 4. One is a 'Bird*. It's my #1 for all music genres. The others are for special needs: i.e., a short scale for really tight 'band areas'[no stage], a semi-hollow for a UB tone when that's "needed", and my Les Paul 5er 'cos I wanted a 5er and it hadda be a Gibson. I found it at a store in Ft. Lauderdale and knew I hadda have it.
The only other bass I have any GAS for is the soon to be released Epiphone VP, RI, NR, TBII-or IV-in____finish.

*unfortunately, my EpiBird 5er and I never quite 'worked' so it "flew" to Arizona. The new owner seems to be happy with it.

I have 3, soon to be 2. Considering the trouble some folks have eating, I feel pretty lucky, lol!
On the other hand, that's no kind of standard to have, and as an artist (I consider myself an artist, fwiw), I think my toolbox is a tad light. But most of what my days are full of is work anyway.
Still, that will change somewhat, and I'm still, in my heart of hearts, pining for a Cataldo 33" scale NR, in jet black w/ bwb pickguard... an Alembic Series-1 w/custom specs, a funky fretless, and one of thos Rickie V63 things.
And a Gibson reverse Bird. Or a Greco.

Without vision, the people perish.

What's worse is having a drinking problem.

I have 16 basses, but Which seems like a lot, then there’s Scott and the Queen.

I had problems with a Markbass Lm 3 head cutting out at an outdoor venue where the power supply was sketchy. No problem with it at home or at the studio. I no longer own the Lm 3. I would look down the sketchy power supply avenue first. Good luck. :hyper:
and they really mean it when they say “Keep Ventilation Paths Unobstructed”
