Thunderbird Club

When I got the new to me van, it had coffee stains on the seats. I used upholstery cleaner and a powerful shop vac to get the stains out. Scrubbing with soapy water didn't work, but a bit of scrubbing, then a short time to let the cleaner work on the stain, then the vacuum got the stains out. A couple of them were pretty ugly and took a few rounds of this. It took some time, but it was worth the effort.

I would expect that technique to work fine on the inside of a case, so long as you don't get overenthusiastic about getting it all soaking wet. The key seems to be using just enough liquid and vacuuming all of it out if you can. Then letting it air out for a while.
And putting it outside in fresh air-so a cat can spray it.:rollno:

Was gonna post a NBD thread, but I really have nothing to add to the praises of these Epi vintage pro basses, soooooo:

I actually will say that as far as basses in my price range go that I have experienced this far, this may be the most high quality one yet. Fit and finish is amazing . The sound is thunderous. Happy holidays!

Very nice! I was playing one in a Sam Ash store a couple weeks ago. There was a younger guy also playing around in the bass department. He really had no clue what I was playing. But when he heard it, he was blown away by the sound. We talked for awhile, nice kid. I’m guessing he may be getting one, if he didn’t already.

Drat. My searching, even when entering the exact description, comes up blank for black with gold.

Double Drat. I found your seller on the bay, but now the only black one listed is with a white logo. At least I know where to check...
Try contacting them. I've had sellers do variations of stuff not specifically listed.

You just keep believing that it was coffee.

Definitely worth asking if they will make one.

[Black pickguard arrived today (Asian eBay seller)! That and some black Gibson screws and Gold tophat knobs (both via Reverb), make my '19 Gibby T-Bird pop!]

Turned out nice. I want to do that PG on the 15 which has the TR cover with gold letters. Yeah, I’m shallow. I’ve looked for one before, but my search skills are lacking...
Been looking for a black and gold PG for a while as well with no luck.

So great minds think alike. It sounds like @GBassNorth and I are looking at matching ‘15s!
LOL - you too. I've never been fond of stark white pickguards on any bass. Aged white or cream/parchment yes, bright white nope.

Maybe all three of us.
LOL - the three amigos. I'm in good company.

If I can get the logo in gold at the current asking price I'll bite. I had planned on contacting the seller and asking if he could do that. If you guys are serious let me know and I'll let him know there are several other buyers that want the same thing. I think he's just silk screening them on so it shouldn't be a big deal. I also plan on buying a cream or aged white one for my black VP to give it more of a vintage look.

Yep, I’m serious. Let me know what you find out. I really like how it matches the TR cover.

A page or two back, some guy posted pics of his new Tbird. Said he wanted to replace the yellowed pick guard. Maybe you could come to some understanding.

Welcome to our world! Sounds like it chose you. That's how it always happens with Thunderbirds.

Was Gibson putting in the Rythm and Lead pick-ups they're using today in Tbirds back in 2008 ? Not finding anything on that.
They have put a number of different pickups in Thunderbirds over the years. I don't know for sure, but I would expect that there's a difference between bridge and neck pickukps for all variants.
