Every time I have looked at Gibson straps, I have marvelled at how expensive they are and how cheap they feel. An impressive price to quality ratio. I would much rather get a real leather strap from another manufacturer. My $0.02 and advice worth that much. I have been very impressed with these straps.

No padding, but the leather conforms to me in a way that is very comfortable.
Haven’t used that one. I do have the Slingshot which I’ve used on the ‘15 and which I like well enough. But it’s now going on the Silverbird on which it provides more of a retro vibe. Thinking about an Italia (which I love) for the ‘15, but I’ll look into the one you recommended.

I got a strap with built in straplocks and a separate shoulder pad from D'Addario, IIRC from the Talkbass store-I think. Away from home, will try to shoot(fuzzy) pics when I return.
Addendum: D'Addario "Planet Lock" strap. IDRC the name of the shoulder pad thingy[technical term].

Actually, if you want to do something useful ... you could measure the OA length + the width of the arse on the JC as those dimensions don't appear to be online anywhere (just packing box dimensions). Then I'll know whether one would fit in my gig bag.

millimetres/centimetres/inches will work -- please no parsecs.
The two of you remind me of a married couple. I hear “If you want to do something useful” from my wife all the time.

I want to clean the case's plush interior and on the Gibson forum, the dishwashing detergent (hand, not machine)/sponge combo seems like a best way to start. Any other recommendations ?
Buy a new case?
Maybe one of the dry carpet cleaners and a vacuum?
That sounds worth a try.
I vacuumed first and tried the dishwashing liquid after... it took out a lot of stains, but there are is still.
I'll give the dry carpet thing a try.
Oh. Buy another case.

I don't know that I recommend it, but it is an option. An option I like enough that I have one in black and one in brown. As always, YMMV

I’ve used Woolite and a sponge, then sucked up the moisture with a wetvac and the let it dry in the sun. Once it was thoroughly dry, I gave it a good vacuuming. Turned out ok for me.

When I got the new to me van, it had coffee stains on the seats. I used upholstery cleaner and a powerful shop vac to get the stains out. Scrubbing with soapy water didn't work, but a bit of scrubbing, then a short time to let the cleaner work on the stain, then the vacuum got the stains out. A couple of them were pretty ugly and took a few rounds of this. It took some time, but it was worth the effort.

I would expect that technique to work fine on the inside of a case, so long as you don't get overenthusiastic about getting it all soaking wet. The key seems to be using just enough liquid and vacuuming all of it out if you can. Then letting it air out for a while.
