Both sides of the fretboard have the frets filed down. Waiting an hour to be able to continue as i've just glued a piece of alder wood (seen in picture held by clamp) at the nut end of the fretboard because i cut into it too deep while shaving off the fretboard to be a perfect 17" from the 12th fret. Won't be noticeable since the alder will then be cut down to arrive just at the bottom of the fretboard - then it'll be painted in black so no way of telling unless you know :P. After that's done, it'll be time to level the frets, bevel their edges & paint the fretboard sides red. I'm thinking of carving in the XII for the 12th fret & insert some glow in the dark paint (which will be the process for the fretboard side markers).

Pics to follow later on, i'll be done with the neck tonight then 2mrw will be coating it in Satin black. Really gonna push this since i need to get it done by the 28th hahaha Still need to get black tuners

Damn! Keep the family safe @veebass :D

& in other news i'm done with the thunderbird neck. Took me 3 hours of solid work that i will always from the bottom of my stomach hate :P But at least it's done. I'm gonna do some final touch ups like the side dot glow in the dark paint dab markers later tonight. But it's all ready for paint now!

Placed the order for another two 9.2 K Hong Kongbuckers. Decided to get a spare.

And............we had a visitor last night. A python shed it's skin just outside our back door. The skin measured just on 3.5 metres.
Not sure where the snake is at the moment!

I was gonna ask "who's Thalia Hall?"

But, great value for $20 - cant see much for that price around Sydney; not names anyway.
I'd love to see Tal.

Do you have Taipans at your part of Australia?

Yes, although not particularly common right here- we have seen one in eight years. We have King Browns also uncommonly. Other deadly snakes here that are reasonably common are Eastern Browns, Rough Scales and Tiger Snakes. Red Bellied Blacks are common but not quite as deadly.
The python that shed the skin here is a Carpet Snake and they get a little bigger than the one that shed the skin- up to 4 metres. It is the biggest one around here, but further north they get Amethystine Pythons which go 7 to 8 metres. I have seen one up on Cape York that had a head on it the size of a German Shepherd's head.
