I had an encounter with a bass player in an opening band not too long ago. Could tell he spends a lot of time in TB gen pop based on his gear and attitude...
him- "wow, you must've gotten one of the few Gibson T-Birds that doesn't have horrible finish issues."
Me- "I've owned several and seen many others. Never personally seen one with finish issues."
Him- "how do you deal with the neck dive? I could never deal with that."
Me- "it doesn't neck dive ever."
Him- "hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones who doesn't have the headstock snap off."
Me- "on two separate occasions, this bass has gotten knocked off the stand on a drum riser and landed face first on a hardwood stage. Still fine."
He eventually gave up and started telling me all about his gear and why it was superior. His tone was terrible and his playing was even worse
